So the conclusion is that flat guards are more show than go? Building a bike to be pretty and useable without assuming I'll be riding it through the heaviest downpour imaginable. I will take a punt on some flat mudguards and see how it goes through this autumn/winter. Hoping to run 28/32s but depends on the frame clearance..
