Looking good. Have you decided on rims - I seem to remember that Mavic CX18's are bloody light and good for narrow track tubs. They only come in grey - is that the right colour?

Yeap, Mavic Piste as I said above. Bought it from remrak (kudos for NOS rims, extra safe packaging and quick dispatch!) 32h just like Ole's:

Admittedly it's a long shot, but who knows... Worst case scenario it's half an hour of your life that you will never get back. Now, weigh that up against what you could potentially gain.

Maybe too late now but I've 32 (and 36 hole) Argent 10 rims which are possibly more period correct at least with regards to the rim sticker.

Was considering that but tbh piste looks a bit "better" in terms of similarity. Again, I could be wrong.

Today's update:

I don’t want going into this half-assed but it seems it’s become more and more one impossible project by the minute:

• Fork turns out to be irreparable because the crown is also bent! So now I'm hunting for a track fork, was excited when see luckyskulls track fork but unfortunately 2cm too short!
  
• Been looking for SR pista hubs with Ti spindle without success, I think they're myth! Same thing with flutted 2-bolt SR post with globe logo, non-existent!
  I've set the bar too high to do an exact replica without realising how difficult and expensive it is sourcing the exact parts. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up though, will keep an eye on the parts and upgrade to a right one along way. But in the meantime I just want to finish this as soon as possible.
  
  

There have been quite a lot of inconsistencies and I hope to minimize that. I have decided to do just near replica instead of exact. Plus with issues of 1st gen SR "commercially pure (CP)" Titanium axle cracking it’ll be a good excuse for me not to go Ti way ; ) (I know I know not all of them break, especially if you don't abuse them). So it’ll be a mix of, functionality, affordability and similarity.

I hope it won’t disappoint. This project not by any means going to be a museum project. I’m gonna ride the hell out of it so I need to make sure I buy some strong and durable parts!

P.S: This is the $390 Cinelli 1R stem.

Owh, and it's entering third week and still no replies from Ole Ritter (through FB) and Ritter Classic. I've also emailed guys at Campagnolo to help me and they also have no clues. List above is the best one I have to guide the build.

Almost, he's meeting the courier today. Don't worry, I emailed him everyday. If there's any doubt that he's running away I'll open up PayPal dispute. I still have 20 days or so.

^yes, i wanted to link to my fs thread of the gazelle 753 because it has the exact same stem even in better shape.. the logo was very shortlived, and 1Rs were prone to breaking so reckon not a lot of them survived

absolutely sure that's no ti stem. just a regular alloy 1R with the old logo front plate. bolt might be Ti, stem is definitely not ;)

I never said it's Ti stem. I just said some Ti shit, it's the bolt. Source from velobase and I asked the seller to test the bolt with magnet. You guess it, it didn't stick. Legit but still too expensive, too overpriced!
