• After riding fixed bikes since 2008 I owned a lot of great bikes. But over all those years I realized how much my perfect bike should look like and how the geometry should be as it isn't that easy to find a frame that fits me, not only regarding my size (6.3), also regarding how I want to sit on a bike.
A few weeks ago I got a slipped disc and now I have to strength my muscles in the back but also should look like for a bike with less bank like I currently have on the Dolan Seta.

So it was just a question of time when I would start thinking about another "No more compromises" custom made frame. I already tried it in March this year but due to some unexpected car repairing expenditures I had to postpone my idea.

As the summer is nearly over and we are close to the winter season I think that it is the best time to plan and order the custom frame.

So I contacted Jacek Orlowski on 3rd September as I'm really happy with his work and my other custom Orlowski SSCX Commuter. He is a really nice and friendly guy who knows a lot about bikes. Sadly he is didn't replied to any of my emails (i think he will be on vacation after the eurobike), so I decided to contact Pelizzoli in parallel as their frame and geometry is quite nice too and the geometry is similar to the old Cannondale Tracks from the early 90ies. I had a 63cm Track back in the days and the geometry was quite perfect.

Ideas so far for the Orlowski build:

    • Columbus Aero aluminium tubing but with a round seattube
    • head tube for fully integrated headsets
    • English bb
    • welded seams
    • double rear brake brige like Andy has on his Makino
    • seattube (c/c) 61.5cm
    • straight top tube (c/c) 59.5cm
    • BB height 29cm
    • both angles should be 74.5 degree
    • some kind of a shiny yellow
    • insides of the fork and the rear stays shall be black

    Uncertainty:
I'm not sure which kind of brake I will mount.
My first idea was a normal brake but meanwhile I'm thinking about a CX fork with canti mounts or even a disc fork. Are there any straight canti/disc forks on the market with less than 40mm rake? Found only the Quantec Carbon Cross fork for discs with 40mm rake.

    EDIT - 19th September:

Today I decided to order the Pelizzoli Leggenda as Marco was always replying really fast, he also offered me a little free thing, he searched really hard for a track fork with disc mounts and the geometry of the legganda was quite close to my custom wishes.

I will order a normal track fork now but will have an eye on the road disc fork market within the next months/years.

    The bumblebee is coming.
