"need for modernisation" and no interior photos = shit hole, right?

  • I saw that. I've seen worse typos/speling mistakes though so I won't hold it against them.

  • We may well be neighbours ish - looking at place near the Leyton Cricket ground. Been googling the local pubs. Hmm.

We got gazumped in that area a few months ago. I agree, not much in the way of pubs round there, but William IV is not so bad, it brews its own beer at £2.50 a pint, there last night. The Abraham flats round there are worth looking at.

If you ain't scared of a bit of work go for it!

The photos for our place were dreadful, I still put that down as half the reason we got it.

I always reckon the places with fixed shut windows and doors, especially with the perforated steel stuff rather than some chipboard, have been really trashed inside or to keep out hostile former tenants or squatters. but I have absolutely no basis for this opinion, they just look a bit bleak.

  • I'd imagine there's always a reason for fitting them. And none of the reasons are those that would make the property more desirable. Why not go and have a nose around?

  • Generally to keep squatters and vandals away I believe

shit hole translates to blank canvas in estate agent speak.

  • shit hole translates to blank canvas in estate agent speak.

I can confirm this. My previous sales manager (imagine a Joop-soaked chimp in a very cheap suit) regularly used this expression. I can still hear his voice when someone uses the expression "blank canvas".

  • You could buy my house in Leeds? It's fucking cheap, fucking lovely and it would mean an end to driving up from Kent every fucking weekend to maintain it for the tenant from hell.

    50p and some chewits...

  • Evict the tenant and we'll talk.

  • How cheap?
    Like first time buyer cheap?

  • 115k and it's yours, Kemo Sabe.

  • Whereabouts in Leeds?

  • More importantly can you get a flat white anywhere in Leeds?

I showed gf and she's opposed to the area anyway. Why I have been getting alerts for it for the last 3 months I don't know. Changed the zone to south of the A40 where we are now. Of course, prices are much higher here. #needslotterywin

  • Morley.

More importantly can you get a flat white anywhere in Leeds?

    Racist.

  • You can get a fat white in Leeds

  • at a reasonable price too.

  • You can get a fat white in Leeds

Fat whites aren't geographically restricted in Britain are they? Maybe less in tofu salad munching London.

  • But what if you want somewhere with a lake?

  • That's a lovely place too. But not central London.
