Everything Apple (the Mac heads thread)

My MacBook has suddenly decided to stop booting. I power it on, get the booting music then it just displays a blank white screen, with no Apple logo.

Any tips as to how I diagnose what's wrong?

If the apple chime sounds then POST has passed successfully. Simply reboot and hold down the option key/alt. then choose your recovery partition. Run disk utility repair disk. Then repair disk permissions. Quit disk utility and choose your startup disk again. Done.
