I guess these work, but I always hated those things. It's fiddly if you have more of them, for other stuff you need as well, and they don't protect against cookie crumbles.
I use a smaller or larger real (padded) camera bag, depending on how much lenses and stuff I want to bring along,
and just put this in the rucksack, usually on top.
You may lose a bit of space, but I find it's really good to have a camera bag with you anyway that you'll have around your shoulder when actually shooting or on 'standby'.
