Gorgeous bike. Good price, too.
But I don't think that it's from the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
I guess that all teams were on regular track bikes then. Just Lothar Thoms of DDR did the 1 km on a lo pro.
Probably this Tommasini was for the 84 or 88 Olympics in LA or Seoul.Anyway, it doesn't matter. Bike is a beauty.

Following questions as to effective top tube length I measured from center of seat tube (at the top) to center of stem in a horizontal line, that is 53cm

Gorgeous bike!
sold
OK this is something special... I'm selling this on behalf of a friend who recently got married and wants to clear out his bike collection... I don't think there's more than 10 of this particular kind of frameset about; a 1980 Tommasini Track Pursuit bike used by the Bulgarian track team at the 1980 Olympics (the frameset).
mavic bullhorns
cinelli stem
campagnolo record pista(?) headset
saddle Concor Prestige
seatpost campagnolo record
cranks campagnolo pista c-record (mint)
pedals campagnolo pista c-record
hubs campagnolo pista c-record sheriffstars 36h (mint)
rims mavic ma40 (front 650c, both mint, clinchers)
bb campagnolo record
chain kmc devil
seat tube 58cm c-t
top tube 56cm c-c
The paint job is original, including Tommasini autograph which doesn't feel like a decal but rather 'pen-painted' on, damaged/scratched in many places, the top tube has a very small ding (hardly visible but tangible) on one side. Front fork's chrome is in very good condition.
BB and headset are smooth. Wheels laced tightly and straight, hubs spin well buttery. An icon of 1980s track racing.
