I'd prefer it to be independent.
For us, by us. Used only to open a couple of doors that we need the official title of "Club" for and then to simply "exist" for anyone on the forum to utilise as they see fit (within the rules set out by BC).
We're all visiting this site using teh internetz, on computers (except you fucking phone-based list-breakers) we all have a nice bike (or more)... we can afford to buy a jersey each.
Having someone else's money involved means they have a valid opinion to input and that we'd have obligations towards them and that defeats the purpose of what Velocio is so kindly organasizing.
If we really needed funds for the club (which, again David has said, we pretty much won't) there are ways of getting it that don't involve selling real-estate on your arse. We could just do fund-raising events, raffles, tombolas, guess the weight of the cake etc... and it would be a lot more fun than sending an email to ask for cash.

We're a community that runs itself and we've done well to keep it that way.

Having said that, what if a bunch of us start racing as a result of the club banner and it turns out that one or two of us are actually 100% badmen(or women) who win all the races and do all the best skids whilst wearing LFGSS colours? Hypothetically, what if the club grew and an opportunity arose for a small team to go abroad and compete or something? I'd be well chuffed that the club got these people inspired in such a big way and at that point, if sponsorship were necessary I'd be more than happy to support members of my club and my community by having a couple of logos on my jersey and posing for a photograph or two. It'd be at this point that we'd surely have discussions with the imaginary committee-to-be in order choose the RIGHT sponsors, liaise with them regarding their requirements of us and keep it as indie and credible as possible.
