• Talking of bogus stuff.....this is hearsay only mind, but speaking to a manufacturing jeweller / watch enthusiast / collector yesterday he told me that the pressure test was boll*cks and that most commercial pressure testing machines are clearly marked to say that they were no garantee of watertightness. In fact he said (and It sounds reasonable) that the test deforms the gasket and once the pressure is released in the chamber the gasket may not always spring back correctly. In other words it was probably waterproof before you pressure tested it, but not afterwards....? Schroedinger's watch?
    He reckoned that the Seiko method of leaving immersed for x hours and then leaving on a hotplate before checking for condensation under the glass was the only sensible testing method.
