  • That is pretty nice.

My Hirsch sharkskin strap arrived today. Well nice! Suits the watch perfectly. Bit of a fiddle to fit but managed it finally, nearly lost a pin in the process.

    Pics up tonight hopefully.

  • walked down london's famous london new bond street today... #csb

My now wife gave me a Nomos Tangomat on the morning of our wedding this summer. It is a thing of simplicity and beauty. I had been faffing about for ages trying to decide on a nice watch to buy, and she nipped in and played a blinder. Having done some research, she said to me that she thought I would like it as it they have manufacture movements and a very clean design. I was both impressed and delighted!

    tl:dr I've got a Nomos, they're great.

  • So, couple of shots with the new strap...

..and one of the case back and movement.

  • Lovin' a bit of skeleton business.

  • Hong Kong?

  • Just been talking about this very subject in the pub with horatio and object...

    Conclusion? We're all idiots*...

    • That is, watch thread people are idiots... Man bracelets as Mrak puts it...

BTW I've never spent more than £160 on a watch...

  • Are you drunk ?

  • why do people hang those dinner plates from their tiny wrists?
    just go all the way

  • I might as well give up on the bike porn thread and most of this forum, and instead resign myself to a 2nd hand Create. I've never spent more than 10 dorrah on a bike...

    pub talk conclusions >>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Fit Submariner is Fit.

    Programme about clockwork things

  • Subs are so, like, 1970. The future is here. The Samsung wearable;

No details yet on lug to lug, or weight without strap.

I have a bad feeling that mechanical nerds will be wearing two 'watches' soon.

  • Well, I've changed my mind about the Hirsch Areo strap... The way it joins at the lugs annoys me. Sticks out too much at the lugs and doesn't rotate round the pins cos it's so tight up against the case. As it's also fairly stiff it means it doesn't lay flat and I can't 'fold' it to put in my pocket if I have to take it off. Doesn't look right with the angle of the lugs either. Basically it's not right. So I'm changing it.

  • absolutely love this.

Ive got a Hirsch strap that was very stiff at first but it broke in within a few weeks...lizard skin.

  • It's the 'Leonardo' fitting with the tight, curved ends that make the stiffness the problem on my watch. The strap material is fine apart from that.

    Anyone want it, btw?

  • How much has object spent on some of his bikes?!

    Go home josephine, you're drunk.

  • PS did SP buy that Rolex? I thought he/you got something else a few weeks back?

Lets not get into crass discussions of bike spending on a thread dedicated to an entirely different type of engineering.

    He was drunk though.

  • Nice microsite about the Seiko 5 range:

It's 50 years old this year.

Totally baffled: I thought mechanicals had odd numbers of jewels? Must be a Swiss thing...Kinda like:

but the hands (esp the second) and the bronze day/date window bevelling jarr.

  • Right. Im going to get one of these watches.
It would just be wrong if I didn't.

  • I need to work out some kind of commission payment...
