  • anything is better than crystal

    ..how about "meth" ?

What? Isn't his really so DIY a coupe of drops down their back job?

I can't say how bad it is where you live, with our cats it has always been DIY twist them out / drops on the back of neck.

How far apart should the water and food be?

..see above; just don't put them exactly next to each other.

  • Ohhhh.... I am soooooo excited...

  • forgive me, but why do you separate food and water?

  • ..because* there is no puddle where se katz has killed the bird* !

    In other words:
Cats are used to *not *drinking right where (read: right after) they kill prey,
so I guess their system runs better if there is a break (read: an after-dinner walk?) after eating.

  • I wonder if that is why my tom cat loves drinking out of toilet/shower/random glass of liquid placed on floor?

  • : D

    ...awesome!!

  • Motty doing her salutations.........

  • Need to place an order to get stuff ready for my cat coming home on Sunday.... God that was a hard negotiation with Battersea, anyway, here is the list, please let me know if I am missing anything?

A coupe for bowls / plates for food and water.
    Litter tray and litter
    Dry and wet food
    Scratch post
Some balls or whatnot as toys
A tag and collar, which won't be needed for another month as she won't be allowed out yet anyway

We already have a little bed ready for her and a cage to take her home...

Anything else?? A fixed gear bike in pink with aerospokes?

Anyone knows how much would it be roughly to have her stitches taken out? She just had her no more kitten op done today and I am not sure if I could get Battersea to have her back to remove the stitches in a couple of weeks...

    Cheers

  • Why didn't Battersea like Sunday? Surely it's just a normal day for them?

Are you able to get the same food the kitten is currently eating?

Toys with catnip are the best toys.

Take a blanket when you collect and give it a good rub it on the bed it's been sleeping in there - might make it feel less insecure back at yours.

What kind of collar did you get? Quick release?

I'd be really surprised if they're not dissolving stitches? Otherwise, Celia Hammond in Lewisham or Blue Cross in Victoria would do it but you should get the kitten registered at a vet anyway...

  • It's not they don't like Sunday, it's more like she is ready to be collected tomorrow, why can't you come down now? Coz she's been at the cattery since May, another couple of days will just make her depressed for the rest of her like... Well, us humans have to go to work and if I had been told she would be ready on Thus, I would have happily taken the afternoon off to collect her, but they only told me this afternoon nearer the end of day, so... and also she is due for another injection on Sunday, and they were already a bit reluctant to do the injection when I went over the weekend. But I wouldn't budge on the date as I don't want to take her home for a couple of days and then having to take her out again and again in a week's time for the stitches... Current plan is to take her to a vet and just to show our faces etc. I think it's worth the money, boyfriend disagrees... but tough shit on that.

I am not worried about the food yet as I will be given a few days worth of supply, so will just match whatever I am given, at the supermarket.

I haven't gotten the collar yet, she is not allowed to be out for a few weeks yet, so have some times to think about that. I suppose quick release is a good choice??

Would an old t-shirt or clean towel do instead of blanket?

They said stitches will have to be removed in 10 days time. Victoria seems a good location as I am about 5 mins walk from Denmark Hill, could just shoot there in the train... Thanks

It feels like so much to do... but I am very excited!!!

  • Would an old t-shirt or clean towel do instead of blanket?

    Yes.
Cat will be lying on anything lying around soon anyway - depending what the sun is shining on.

    I found blue blankets were most appreciated;
domestic cats have poor colour vision with reduced ability to see shades of red and green, maybe it's that.

  • Blue it is then!!! Thanks for the advice so far, guys!!! Me and the cat both really appreciate it!

  • Make sure the t-shirt has just been washed, they love the whole rubbing fur all over clean clothes thing.

  • ^ this i find my white cat especially loves dark clothes and the dark tabby likes light clothes!

All the best Extra cats are great pets, i may have some litter that you can have as my cats dont like it, or to any other cat owners on here wood chip type stuff.

collect from Stockwell its the big bags buts its not to heavy

  • Think I have a couple of new towels in the drawer, if not I shall put my washing machine on.

the £2.99 cardboard scratching pad + some catnip is the best thing we've bought for our cat, he showed no interest in other scratching posts but loves this one (and it's dirt cheap and recyclable).

  • can't go wrong with it, can you?? Gone get 2!!! Cheers mate!

Might take you up on that, mate, just need to find out what type she uses at the cattery. Could we pop round on Sunday if she uses the type you got?

  • How do I train my cat to piss directly into a particular hole in the wall in the kitchen? I keep seal that hole and they fucking mice keep digging tunnels out of it... I think getting them to swim in my cat's piss is the only option left...

On a seriou note, found a vet in Herne Hill just opposite the station, Brockwell Vets. It seems a bit of a dump in there but they seem nice and busy so I took it a as good sign. £30 for a consultation and £45 for a prescription of 3 moths supply of de flea treatment. Is that about the right price?

Miss Mouse, I checked out Blue Cross but they only accept owners on certain benefits...
