I didn't attend... Instead, I wrote a very long email to my MP re the debate, stating that in my opinion, to lure the populace onto bikes with zero protection in law is tantamount to corporate manslaughter. I cited examples of very experienced cyclists who had not managed to survive and who had received no justice. I included the cases in his own constituency where two drivers who caused the deaths of cyclists through recklessness were not even arrested. I would be much happier if the debate had been about MPs, magistrates, judges and CPS and Sentencing Council staff having to cycle to work.
