Need HELP with jerseys/skinsuits NOW Purlease!!!!

Posted on
  • Howdy one and all!

We're entering a team for the AMR Saturday 7th and we've been let down by our supplier for skinsuits for the event.

If anyone can point me in the right direction where I can get skinsuits or jerseys with the eight logos of our sponsors attached, I would be more than grateful to say the least!

All the vector artwork will be supplied for print.

I'm more than pissed off with the "supplier" because this is a charity event and the sponsors are expecting their logos on the jersey and if this doesn't happen then the team will have to pay out of their own pocket or cancel.

As we've all been putting the hours in on the bike, it will be a major let down for all of us, but more important; the charity won't get their money.

Last, but not least, the printer will have seven days to do this and will have their logo emblazoned on the front of the jersey/skinsuit for maximum exposure for free, but we do not have tons of cash to throw at the finished product because the money we have raised is for the charity.

*I don't want this thread to turn into a "whose the supplier?" and "Do you expect this for free?" slanging match, so please can anyone from LFGSS point us in the right direction?*

    Thank you x

  • ps. I'm back on-line in an hour.

  • Hi Mate,
You might want to consider Decathalon might not be quite same quality as stuff ordered from specialist but would be quick and cheap there pretty generous aswell so if you try to talk to one of the store managers they might do you a deal.
    Best of luck Tim

  • Thank You Tim,
I've just contacted them and I'm awaiting their return call.

    I'll keep y'all posted.

  • Decathlon were pants I'm afraid.

Several phone calls and no return calls to finally be told they couldn't do it.

    WOFT.

    Anyone else?

  • Try these guys: http://www.shuttvr.com/customer-care/contact-us/

    Or these guys: http://www.owayo.com/cycling.htm

But they have like 10+ day lead times so get your sob story polished. Plus neither are in London so you'd need an amazing courier tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Otherwise, you'll need to buy plain skinsuits and find someone with printing equipment. There must be someone one here!

  • owayo couldn't do it and Schutt are on the phone.

Thanks for the links though. Much appreciated, ta.

I hope there is someone on here whom can do it!

  • I haven't used them in a long time, but maybe try spreadshirt?

They do a sports jersey and have an express delivery service.

  • ^ Thanks. I've sent them an email, but I'm not sure they can print on lycra, but we'll see.

If anyone else has any ideas, please post x

    Thanks to everyone so far!

  • If you really get stuck, and are desperate towards the event, how about getting the logos made on stickers?

  • ^ I don't think the sponsors want to spend mega-bucks to see their company peel off and lost in the gutter!

  • Anyone else?

    Help!

  • Have you purchased plain skinsuits yet? At this stage you're not going to be able to get custom skinsuits from a specialist's stock. Get yourself (or a friend) looking for some nice black skinsuits.

Why are you just emailing suppliers when your race is tomorrow? Use the phone. What if they don't bother opening your email till after lunch?

Call spreadshirt (because they're actually in London) and see if you can go over there later today with a skin suit.

Don't sit and wait for a LFGSS-er who might never materialise. Drive this.

  • Yes, I can get the skinsuits - no problems with that.
    The race is next week.
I have emailed and phoned companies all day yesterday and today.
I emailed Spreadshirt last night and they don't answer their phone when I call.

I am not waiting for any LFGSS-er to do the job for me.

    Thanks for your help.

  • As I was writing my last post, lo-and-behold Spreadshirt sent me the following:

I regret to inform you that we can only print on products from our apparel assortment.

  • Why does it have to be skinsuits then? Why not just get the sports jersey, or breathable t-shirt, and everyone wear their own shorts?

Yeah, you won't have the nice zip and back pockets, but it's better than the charity losing out?

  • what's the obligations to your sponsors Gaffer?

are they just expecting to get a couple of pics of the riders wearing kit with their logos emblazoned?

[If push comes to shove wear plain black kit and there's enough of us on here with photoshop/retouching skills to make that happen]

  • Hey scottmac, sorry I guess I misunderstood a few things. Sounds like you're working hard but not having much luck!

I'd be surprised if you couldn't get this sorted within a week. Wish I could help further.

There's too many sponsors to stick on a jersey and skinsuits are cheaper than a jersey and shorts. Plus, there's a lot of politics going on and I'm in the thick of it trying to sort it out!!!

I'm an image retoucher by trade, but you can't re-touch video and press reports.

Apology accepted and no worries. Yes, it is becoming a kick-in-the-dick kinda experience - ha!

I don't want this to become a slanging match thread, but if anyone can drop a few links to a possible outcome, then thank you in advance x

  • die sub is the only way you'll do it in this time frame

these guys reckon they've got a 2 day turnaround

  • big daddy wayne: YOU are the MAN!

I've just rang them and left a message and emailed them my details too.

I suppose I won't hear anything until Monday (hopefully I'm wrong) but this is the most helpful news I've had in days!

Feck. I'm going for a lie down...

  • Just looked at Danger UK web-site out of interest really.

I spotted that they are in Aylsham, Norfolk.

Well I'm only about 40 miles away from there. If these guys do come up with the goods for you, I will offer to help collecting, or something if a courier can't be arranged, or is not quick enough.

PM me and I'll send you my direct e mail address.

  • Thank you dr nosh.

I'll let you know as soon as I know what's happening. Cheers!

  • Ahh poo...

Danger UK won't do it. They said:

"Our jerseys are plain white and unprintable on certain areas so the design required would be impossible, especially within the shirt time frame."

Never mind, I've spent the last few days running up the steep hill of "Fuck off son; you'll never get it!" so I guess my only satisfaction will be when I shit down the left nostril of the cunt whom left us high and dry in the world of charity fundraising.

Gawd, I hope he gets a boil on his boil, the twat.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help, I hope I can repay them someday. Nite zzz.
