Yes it is fucking brilliant. Went last year and it was easily one of the best holidays I have had.
Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels in a couple of hours and then a local train half an hour to Ghent.

It's a tiny city full of the most amazing architecture and the beer is just beyond words :)

I love Ghent but I haven't been able to go for the last 8 years as my current job has deadlines at the end of November so no time off, even weekends. Gutted as I'd love to go back.

I went to Bremen a few years ago when Mark Cavendish and Gerraint Thomas were tearing up the U23s. Well worth the trip, a proper party six day and a beautiful city, although I could have done without the mass singalong to the German equivalent of Badiel & Skinner doing their version of three lions...

I would also recomend the Hasselt 6 Day, went a couple of years ago. Got the eurostar to Brussels and then cycled to Hasselt, brilliant weekend of racing

Does anyone know if the cross race is on the same weekend this year as Gent?

You'll be surprised how much culture we fitted in during the days. Must have gone to about 5 museuems and seen loads of old wrecks :)

The street velodrome (or whatever nonsense) got me thinking about this. Anyone more aware of what's going on know if this idea is completely dead? Or are they still trying to make this happen?
