If you weren't driving around in a car that is illegal in at least 4 ways you wouldn't be subject to such scrutiny. You know what the answer is.
Nah, I got stopped a billion times BITD, the roz will just pick on you 'cos you're a young lad with mates in the car. I was repeatedly busted, always with a carfull of my homeboys (LOL) it wasn't like I was rolling in an Impala, more a 1.0L Metro. And get your front plate back on, that's an immediate red flag to them. Well done on avoiding a spanking. I once got busted in the pub carpark, in front of loads of my mates. I was speeding like a massive twat though.

How to make your car feel slow in one easy step:
- Ride shotgun in a car with triple your power delivered by a massive turbo.
FFFUUUUCCCKKKK MMMMEEEEEE
R32 is incredible. It's making 400bhp by 4,000rpm so for the next 4,000 rpm it's just solid, blistering acceleration. Foot flat to the floor, it'll keep spinning the wheels until you change into 4th, which is speeds I don't care to discuss online.
The turbo is fucking ridiculous, but it doesn't feel laggy because it has such a huge power band. Changing at 8,000rpm drops you straight back into 400+bhp at around 5,000rpm. It's progressive boost above 20psi but it goes from 5psi to 20psi in one jump... which is neck breaking.
At the moment it handles a bit like a dog, ridiculous power, super grippy fronts (R888) and not so grippy rears T1Rs, and the suspension is just about coping, however once you get the front pointed in the way you want to go, it fucking goes there. With the amount of power available you can dial out understeer by just prodding the accelerator and the line tightens, back end slides progressively, and you come out the other side with your head slammed into the headrest leaving massive black lines all over the road.
Today, my mate is changing over all of his comp spec suspension, rose joints, subframe, and wishbones from his old 4 door on to this car, so that should mean he can control the car a lot better in the corners, and on the straights!
Thankfully it stops extremely well, I don't know the spec but it's GTR calipers with uprated discs, pads, lines, and fluid.
The one surprising thing is how quiet it is. It's 4" turbo back with a mid box and rear silencer, it's quieter than my dad's standard 996 at idle - you can hear the 750cc injectors over the engine - and around town it's well mannered and easy to drive. The only giveaways are the slight turbo noises when you let off the accelerator, and the welded diff clonks and scrubs tyres when manoeuvring at low speed. Approaching 4,000rpm you can hear boost building, but it's still not loud, and then the screamer pipe opens up and all hell breaks loose.
I can't wait until he gets all the suspension and steering swapped over and we can go destroy some back roads properly without snaking all over the road and being straight line warriors.

I'd love an R32... It's like a otp production sleeper. Even standard it's a beast. I love the fact it's 4 wheel drive!

If the gear ratios are matched to the boost threshold then you don't "fall off" boost.
My turbo is significantly smaller than the one on the R32, the car can feel slow before 2,500 rpm, but it doesn't above that.

You can buy a rwd GTS for about £6k. Still great fun. The comfort of these cars are well underrated. I guess fuel consumption is still fairly high even on a standard 2L turbo

should be punching out just under 600hp at the crank, but I didn't have the money to put on engine dyno. with a 4500 stall its hard to get a good reading on chassis dyno, but should be 400+hp easy.

Long time lurker of this thread, it's taught me an awful lot about cars and brought me to appreciate some of the classic cars you guys post up.
Is the BMW above a 2002? I want one! Big fan of old beamers!
Oh and I might as well share what I have, a dull MK5 golf GT, I detest it and its endless problems, can't wait to get rid of it.
