  • Nice stuff, especially the last Bill one. Good to meet you too.

  • great weekend despite the dubious weather. Fun games playing with Kibble and Chris, that 5-4 'us or them' win to qualify against Troika was awesome. Lovely also to see old friends and meet new ones especially the Polish lot and Alaskans who are awesome.Other highlights were the court cleanup on Monday, tramp beers at London Fields on Sunday morning, the starjump competition, ridiculous skill from Luca vs Spring Break, the Cosmic v Sprink Break game where Ryan scored one second from time, Octopussy beating Milky Way and watching Dodi, Emmet and Josh play some incredible polo.

Fucking enormous love to all the organisers and helpers who worked so so hard to pull off a great tournament. I heart the LPC!

  • Eddie still pissed about finishing 7th!

  • Eddy wasn't pissed yet. But it took only an hour to get him "car-blocking" pissed ;)

  • anyone pick up a pair of black BBB rain cover shoes ..I leave it attached to the fence on the side of the magic court

  • there were mallets, a helmet, a rain coat and a arches bag and a burn the witch tee. any takers?

  • Did my Euro Bench t-shirts turn up anywhere? I had about 8 for sale a the shirt stand, and that got packed up at some point.

  • I have a Makita drill at my house.

  • Ryan / Nik did you bring my 18V DeWalt back to HH with you?

  • Back in France, was cool to spend the last 3 weeks in London, and thanks for the LO13, it was great!

    Cheers!

  • Tshirt and wheel are indeed mine, I'm in Cornwall for the next week or so though.

Saturday was great, then I was really really ill on Sunday (and for three days after)...

  • Thanks Nik, Jess, Ryan and the LPC for the great time we had in London.

    Some specials :

    • Emmet for bringing some fluid, fast and great polo to watch / play against back from Seattle.
    • Jono for lending me his (great) bike while mine was unusable.
    • Max Knight for helping me with this f** seat post. (we finally managed to pull it out, for those who missed it).
    • Beagle for giving me a brand new seat post, just like that!!!
    • A huge thanks for Fuschia who offered a great place to stay, and many precious advices. Whenever you come to Brussels, your bed is ready.
  • Ha!
I remember you prodding at that seatpost with the hacksaw.
"I don't really want to get it out, Jono says I can ride his bike instead..."

  • Thank you so much LBP for this tournament.
This was a blast. I never seen a court construction going so well and so fast. First time it seems to have enough drill to be efficient. The pre-event communication for volunters was great too, easy to fallow and to get quick answers. Thanks everybody who was involved in that!

Courts where great, even the smaller ones. Location is gorgeous. Schedule on time even with fuckin' rain the whole day. Streaming for the last day, woop.

Games was fun to watch and play, glad to see mixed teams going far and take it, glad to play some good organized teams as SB. Our games was both fun to play. Congrat' to MagicWay for their win. Lovely to see emmet back on court. Thanks to will for picking me, and to Alex and Hugo who let luca play with us.

eletric showroom was maybe funnier with normal people.

nice to see london again, and londonian too.

    Can't wait for next year.

  • Just wanted to post a couple thank yous, first off I'd like to thank all the players for coming and making this years London open so much fun. Big ups to Jess for taking on the lead roll. Nik for her tireless efforts leading up to the event I've never seen so many lists in my life!
This year I put my hand up to do the courts, without really understanding what I'd got myself into. Without Anjelo, Hayden, Ed, Tim and Apollo this years courts simply would not have happened. In Cambridge Anjelo rolled up his sleeves and helped Nik and I drag 100 sheets of ply and 50 uprights down an narrow path into a van. Hayden and Ed were there from day one helping with the design and ordering of materials and over seeing the court build, they both did a tremendous amount of work all weekend. Hayden and Ed are the reason this years courts were the best yet! Tim took control of the day long upright build epic, when I was fading, and kept the enthusiasm into the next days court build and then preceded to ref the whole evening session! Apollo was there all weekend from the uprights to the take down getting things done.
Thanks to all the volunteers that showed up early on the Friday to help with the court build and all the refs who helped out, Chucker, Bill, Jono, Tim, Chris, Dan, Dave, Mayeut, to name a few, it was also good to see some new refs giving it a go.
Big thanks to everyone that came out on the Monday to help with the take down. Matt, Rupert and Jono put in a hard days work taking down the courts and dismantling the uprights. Ben, Beagle, Bill, Josh, Nik, Rik, Paul, Apollo and Maddie all dug deep and came back to my shop for the finial unload I can't thank you guys enough.

Highlight- Seeing so many volunteers on the friday morning ready to work ;) definitely feeling the LPC love x

Already looking forward to next year!
    cheers, Ryan

  • Wow, still can't believe the Open is over. Those few days went by in a sleep deprived blur and I am still working on tying up the loose ends now!

I have to say an epic epic thank you to Nik and Ryan for taking on all the physical work which I had no idea about... the courts were incredible and built in super quick time. We managed to dismantle them in lightening speed too! Also for sorting out refs and volunteers and a whole load of logistical stuff before and during the tournament too, the help was priceless and I want to thank every single person who lent a hand - it meant a lot!! Hayden, Tim, Apollo, Bill, Mayeut, Will, etc. Thank you John H for handling all of the formatting and keeping the PA mic firmly away from me most of the time :)

I also have to thank our incredible sponsors, whose incredible donations we could not have put on our tournament without:

Chunk Clothing - who have always been endlessly enthusiastic and never said no when I asked for anything including awesome banners and gifts for volunteers! Martin & co, you are brilliant.

Brooks - who have tirelessly supported bike polo over the years at tournaments large and small worldwide. They put up with my endless nagging last year when sponsorship looked unlikely and didn't hesitate to say yes this year, even upping the sponsorship to the top tier with less than a week's notice. Thank you so much guys.

Also thanks to Magic for making those fancy goals and to Flatcap for providing us with beer. Big up to our cycling friends at Mission Workshop, Charge Bikes, DZR, Le Coq & Restrap for providing lovely prizes too.

The biggest thanks has to be to Jono though, who has put on this awesome tournament for the last two years and dealt with my endless questions about every single thing and for keeping me positive whenever anything looked like it was going wrong (mega stresshead)! Thank you buddy.

Right now, the official video is being edited as we speak and I need song ideas! Suggestions please...

    NOT the Vengabus!

Lots of love to the LPC and international polo family.
