I try and empathise, but I'm a bit too analytical for that to be relied upon and this case the analysis is that the reported people weren't the issue.

The above sentance is missing something, perhaps 'in' before 'this case'

Anyway, you are one of the grammar Nazis, I'm sure you can sort it out. It pains my eyes etc...
