Can anyone please recommend a good Japanese restaurant in London? A friend and I will be travelling up to yon fair city next week and I know she's never tried that sort of thing before.

Ha you know me too well! Nah I'm pretty set on mud guard mounts. They make riding in the winter months far more enjoyable. Went to all terrain cycles yesterday and they were really pushy on the new giant CX bike but again... No mud guard mounts. I'm test riding a friends Kinesis Crosslight pro next week so i'll have a see how that feels etc
Try out the Badman if you like? Just doing some maintenance but should be up and running again by Tuesday?

The Boardman is a serious cross bike
In my mind, I just spat my coffee all over my monitor.

Wagamama.
Kidding, you have to narrow it down, there's load of great one in London, like the Japan Centre in Piccadilly.

Why settle for inferior braking performance?

It's a cross bike - It's not meant to stop ;)
Braking is doing it wrong.

Budget is not a worry (Ha! I'm so posh).
We'll be coming into St. Pancras so close to there is a plus, but the likelihood is that we'll be spending the day in London and can travel around a bit. It'll probably be a lunchtime meal rather than a dinner though.

Looking to rent a big country house for NYE.
Anyone have any experience with doing this/suggestions?
Me and my mate got a group of cottages for a joint birthday/NYE in Kent: http://pilgrimsnook.co.uk/
It was quite a good way to do it so you ended up with a main party cottage, games/whiskey, and a more chilled/those who wanted to go to bed cottage.
We found it tough to finding one space which could sleep lots of people. Also most places we looked at needed to be rented for a week. We did see a wicked place in some sort of converted castle near Bristol... I'll see if I can find a link.
Other things to consider:
- nail attendees down early and get money off them asap.
- car spaces - if lots are driving there is often a limit on how many cars you can have.
- Sound system - a mate puts on nights so brought proper speakers down, the ones there were just ipod dock things so not really up to proper party standards.
- get a kitty and buy food for meals
- draw up a rough plan if you're there for a few days otherwise it gets a bit aimless.
- source local pubs before you go (if you're there for a couple of days)
- nail attendees down early and get money off them asap.

fancy sending it over. so far my best attempt is cs3 to rainham then up through ockendon into langdon hills.
just fancy riding back there while it's still sunny as I've never done it before.
and there's a taco bell and i want to see how hideous their food is.
edit: ta.

In fact, when are you thinking of doing it? It's been over 6 months since my last Taco Bell I think.
