• Anyone know where I can get some v-brake mounts brazed onto an old MTB frame? Couldn't give a monkeys what it ends up looking like as long as it works. Hoping to avoid paying frame builder prices as the frame really isn't worth it.

  • I went to a guy at the bottom of Green Lanes, near Newington Green a while back and he did a decent enough job of repairing my old steel frame. My advice; just find your local metalsmith and give him £20. Shouldn't be a difficult job for him

  • Talk to Edmundro... He should sort you out.

  • As the winter will soon be here I woke up this morning and wanted to head out for a bit of cyclocross, only issue I do not have a cyclocross bike...

I have a stable of various road bikes and the like but having spent a fair bit $$$ this summer and lacking space I can't really justify a stand alone cyclocross bike, (at the moment) I do however have a Geoffrey Butler audax touring bike that is doing nothing and would consider a CX conversion for minimal spend..

I can get a Kiniesis canti fork no problems but the arse end would need some bosses mounted as it takes a standard road caliper, Luckily there is ample mud clearance.

Can anyone suggest a place that could do it? im located in E17 North east London...

  • Well Saffron Frameworks have just popped up to say hello. £38 for a pair of canti bosses, based in Camberwell.

  • Tar mate I just sent a message to them as you posted this, I will get on...
