Cointreau, most of a bottle, spent night in a bath puking over myself. I worked in and ran a few bars and I couldn't even touch the bottle let alone smell the stuff without a load of bile coming into my throat.
I also once went to a Jose Cuervo night at the Scala, free cocktails all night. Had a shoot for Aquacutum the next day that I was supposed to be art directing, the stylist spent the whole day trying to keep me upright. I still have not learned my tequila lesson

Oh, Malibu, how could I forget.
For my 18th birthday I dressed up as Beatrice Kiddo (the Bruce Lee outfit). Underneath the yellow trackie top I was wearing a white t shirt on to which I'd scrawled "make mine a double Malibu and coke" in black marker pen. 14 doubles later I was very very sick. Never touched it since.

The Asian BBQ pork last night was amazing, cooked down the juices into a thick, treacly sauce and served it in wraps...

Five Guys.
10/10, brilliant. Had the double cheeseburger with almost everything, cajun fries and about a litre of raspberry Coke. The burger was only rivalled by Patty & Bun in my opinion. It was pricey though, fast food environment with burger restaurant prices. I'm nit-picking though, this is about the food and the food was excellent.
Really need to give burgers a rest for a while now.
what could go wrong?

Thanks for the rice recipe 'brows
'recipe' is a very loose term for it.
She taught me to cook in the same way, so most of my arabic recipes are basically wing it till you get it right. -

Been getting into sushi making recently - all good, got the proper vinegar seasoning stuff for the rice, buying the sashimi grade fish from the Japan centre... but, invariably, half way through the meal I end up a bit bored. Oh, another bit of fish and rice you say? Really? Hmmm. Anyone got any interesting ideas to mix it up/spice it up/generally make things interesting? Looking into getting some of the gyoza dumplings to add variety, but any other inspiration welcome....
.....oh, and whilst we're talking burgers, the opening of Dirty Burger in Vauxhall is NOT going to do my waist any favours. They're probably my top burger in London, just for the outrageous beefiness of their patty.

^ Tried making hand rolls? or Japanese Omlette for the side? You could also get Salmon skin and deep fry it for some more fun... Or get some simple Miso on the side? Or sear some really high quality beef and have that with the rice?

We've only made our own fresh sushi once, there was sooo much of it...
Wound up spending quite a lot too, much cheaper to go out to a good restaurant... IME...

Japanese omlette sounds like a cracking idea - got any particular recipe/recommendations in mind? Salmon skin as well - presumably shallow frying in plenty of oil will work well enough too? Miso is always nice - we've been having as a starter but I guess actually having it alongside the sushi might make a nice variation in flavours... beef would be great but my other half is veggie so the attraction is the fish and veg really.... Cheers for this.

How was this? Went pass there after work last night. Looked interesting to say the least.
A bit of a joke to be honest. A mate and I shared 4 burgers (so 2 each... they were a bit smaller than normal) and some of the queues to get served were about 45 mins long. The ticket was £10 and got you a pint and two fairly average shooters.
However, some of the burgers were fucking great. There was one from disco bistro (never heard of them before) with pineapple and bacon (I think) relish that was great, and another by dirty burger that was absolutely magnificent.
If they do it again, they need to either let less people in, or give the vendors grills that are bigger than 3ft square. Was a bit of a joke trying to watch them keep up with demand at times.

I went to this ^ as well, we got there at half 6, got served and given food in 10 minutes. We then ate our fill and drank beers whilst being shocked at how long the queues had got! Street feast as normal on a Friday/Saturday is much more chilled in comparison.

Went to the last day of the Hawksmoor Bar 50% off month, 100ft queue BEFORE it even opened (we were at the front), peoples done loves them some cheap grub
Liverpool has a Tequila bar where they make different flavoured Tequilas and it's £1/shot. I can no longer go anywhere near Jose Cuervo, but I can stomach Patron. Just about.
