  • Expensive. :(

  • Might be the only option if it has that metal bar going through the bridge like my alpinas do.

  • Rather than adding stickers to the whole frame, go down to your local auto bodyshop and ask them to put similar colours they have on a mixing pallet for you to see which is the nearest colour, then ask them to do a small container in which you can touch your paintwork up.

It's a Dolan so they would have used stock colours as it's easier and cheaper, they could well be Peugeot colours.

  • Would you not just look into getting a clamp on brake?

Nope, this is not an option as you would have to be mental to even considered clamping to carbon!

Not that one would fit anyway.

  • Why not just buy a frame drilled for a brake?

Thats exactly what I thought, I've only seen them on skinny steel track forks.

Cheers James, any chance you guys at No Quarter do paint job touch-ups?

  • Why not just buy a fork drilled for a brake?
This. I WOULD get forks drilled for a brake if there is not a safe way to successfully drill the forks for a brake. (I hardly use brakes on fixed, they're only there for emergencies or when I want to be lazy)

  • I can, however a proper touch up painjob is quite expensive as you have to do a local repair.

. Matching the colour up (even colours that have been matched by a machine hardly ever match, this has to be done by trial and error).

. Carefully rub down affected area and blow new paint on, could need upto 3 coats.

. Remove current lacquer and re-lacquer the whole frame.

In short, re-touching a frame properly is roughly the same amount of work as re-spraying the whole frame. We've done a few frames where customers are adamant to keep the frame as original as possible. If you did want the frame re-touching via a basic spray and lacquer, that could be done, however it's almost 1/2 the cost of a full re-spray.

  • I'm looking for a cheap/quick touch up on the small areas affected.

    Thanks nonetheless James.

  • Is this purely for the looks?

If not just put some clear nail polish on there to stop it flaking off further.

I've just applied some nail polish to affected areas as a temporary coat. I am thinking of getting some touch ups in the future because I think the paint scheme on this frame looks too good for it to be ruined by a couple of scratches.

  • The Track Champion Edition of my Pre Cursa

  • please don't drill the forks and sell them to me

  • please don't drill the forks and sell them to nutsjesmoar

  • are you letting them know these have an alu crown? They're not even really carbon forks

Yeah. Brixton Cycles said they don't drill ANY forks and if I want them drilled; i wuld have to give the forks to the thanufacturers.

  • Buy these (if steerer long enough): http://www.lfgss.com/thread112796.html

And sell your ones to BONOR?

  • I'm taking the forks to VBC tomorrow and if they can't drill the forks then the forks are B0N0R's.

That's the problem I'm afraid, apologies I didn't tell you earlier. Also due to the fact that I'm unable to have a paypal account all transactions have to be completed by hand. :[
