  • OK, I've been lusting after a ti bike for ages and have finally scrimped together enough £££. Was originally considering an Enigma but was then seduced by the idea of a Moots Vamoots (not sure yet whether to go for Vamoots or the CR version). Obviously a bike for many years riding but short term goal is to use to get fit for and then do Fred Whitton.

Inspired by the thread elsewhere here, I am off to Bespoke Cycling on friday for a fitting, followed I hope by some serious shopping. Wouldn't mind some help from others here on what to spec, specifically:

    • ti stem or not? I've heard good and bad things. Moots stem looks v sexy though

    • likewise on a ti (Moots?) seatpost, or should I go carbon for comfort?

    • wheels. I was thinking of h plus son archetype with some decent hubs - prob can't afford chris king but might stretch to Royce. Any views here? Alternatively, what about a Mavic wheel (I have Open Pros on my fixed which have been great for the past 6 yrs)

    • on gears I am pretty much (but not finally) decided on Athena triple (cos I am a fat git who will need help getting up 30% hills in Cumbria).

All help gratefully received. Never had a bike fitting before either so if anyone has any tips for any questions I should be asking on Friday, shoot away...

    Ian
