On the subject of 'has anyone got...' has anyone got a spare SPD backing plate thingy (it's called a Cleat Nut apparantly) - it's the bit that lives in your shoe that the cleats bolt into - looks like this:
(But much smaller - sorry for huge image) - they often come with new cleats (but not the poncey french ones I buy)...
