I went into "Wheelie Great Bike Store" on Lansdowne Road earlier. It looks really dodgy in there, creates everywhere but I was desperate. I was actually really surprised, the guys in there (Ben and Bernard) were both really cool and seemed to know their stuff. They did the bits I needed sorting out on my bike in their workshop and didn't ask for any payment at all (last time I went to Primera in Charminster they charged me £20 to remove a sprocket and took 3 days to do it). They even invited me on a couple of rides! If you're nearby it might be worth just popping in and having a chat!
+1 on the great chat with these guys. I've heard about them before and a few weeks back and thought I would pop in to see them as they do old steel second hand bicycles. I was after a 531 frame for a project for slades, although no luck they were extremely helpful and friendly towards someone who just walked in. Between them and Xchurch cycle xperience they generally take up the minority of tough work that I cant do in house.
I should probably take this opportunity to say Hi, between Bournemouth & Bath (university) you may see me around either on a fixed racing green coventry eagle or a grey triumph. Your more then welcome to say Hi. Would be nice to meet up with a few people before I head back to uni at the end of september!
