~~I've had this classic steel steed for a while now and I'm just not using it.
Saying that, I'm not really using any of my 8 bikes...
It is a 56cm (centre to centre for both seat tube and top tube) Pinarello Veneto made in Columbus Aelle tubing with chrome forks. Size wise, it is set up for me at 5ft10.5 and I would say that it will fit someone between 5ft9 and 6ft1.
The equipment on this classic steel bike is great - the groupset is mostly Shimano 600 (Ultegra 6400) so that includes headset, seatpost, 172.5mm chainset, shifters, bottom bracket and brakeset. The Front (double) and Rear (8speed) Derailleurs are RX100.
I have serviced the bike and added a lot of new parts including:
NOS RWS X-Lite wheels (Rigida),
BBB 8 speed cassette,
Clarks 8 speed low noise chain,
cartridge brake pads (front and back),
cables (inners/ white outers),
3T 42cm black bars with blue Condor bar tape.
There is also a good set of puncture proof Continental Gatorskins tyres on it (700x23 front and 700x25 rear), a Sigma BC800 wireless computer, a San Marco Rolls in white, Time Equipe pedals automatic pedals in white, a 100mm ITM stem (polished), and a pair of Time automatic pedals.
Being a 1988, the bike has been around the block a few times and the frame has various scuffs and some chain suck, nothing major. Hipsters call it 'patina' or 'character'. The STI shifters (or brifters ie combined brake/gear levers) work well.
I have done approximately 50 miles since I serviced it / replaced all the above mentioned parts so the bike rides very well and is ready for a new owner – come and take it for a spin!
The bike is stored indoor at my office in Chancery Lane so please come and take it for a spin.
