I did :)
Waiting to hear back from the seller.

didn't those have a design weakness on the drop out, which they rectified in later versions?
-
• #48156
'those' meaning just the big block or was it a weakness in all all-city drop outs?
-

There have been cases of it cracking on Nature Boys' too. Touch wood I have the old version NB and it hasn't happened.

Apparently they ride like Conalgo, the Schwinn of Italy. and worth a bit, definitely more that what it's going for, I would JUMP on it if you have the inclination.

I am definitely inclined, but based in London and can't really get to the West Midlands at such short notice!

I went to national cycle museum in Llandidrod Wells last week. One of the guys who runs it said rotrax are in the top three of best made frames in his opinion and he has a lot of bikes

What are the other 2 top 3? Hetchins? Mercian? Rourke? Woodrup? Argos?

• #48169
he gave AS Gillott good mention but was rather keen on rotrax. I think his favourite frame in the museum was by harry carpenter http://www.flickr.com/photos/beenbrun/9557006605/ http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/carpenter.html
He was quite dismissive about Hetchins saying they are very fancy but other bikes ride a lot better.
-
• #48170
Also he was bigging up pre war lightweights, I guess because a lot of the companies and builders moved after the war because of bombing or because factories were taken over for war production and he had a lot of nice frames from late 30s

Olmo's are lovely cycles, from the bottom of the range upwards, they are all very well made and specced.
The modern Giro is a great ride for the money, I have no idea why they are not more popular.

May be a PX10 £89 BIN so not too bed if it is.
It's not a PX10 - giveaway is 'cadre allege' not 531. £89 buys you a nightmare grappling with french threads, stem and seatpost sizing. And derailleur hanger, gear lever braze ons etc....
