Hi mate, I bought a 7005sl model from them with a campag veloce, pretty much the cheapest of the cheap as far as alloy goes. I've since done about 4,000 miles on it, upgraded the wheels to some old mavic kyrsium sl's, and it's still as solid as ever. I've now got a cervelo and am using the ribble as a trainer but i'd definitely recommend it.

To be honest they always say that you should get the best frame you can then upgrade, but i'd recommend just saving money, get the base frame and a bog standard group, 105 or veloce and when you want to upgrade, buy a decent level bike and keep the old one for training :)

If you don't want to upgrade, then I guess you're not to bothered about having a nice bike anyway so you'll be happy with the cheaper one

Cheers really useful, this will be my only bike for a year or two, so thinking that Alu as I will be happier using it through the winter. Doesn't seem to be much weight difference between their frames, so will choose on the agressiveness of each frame. Now just got to choose between 105, veloce or centaur...

If you're undecided, go to a shop that have both campagnolo and shimano equipped bicycle, give them both a try and see which you prefer the feel of.

Already on the plan for this weekend! Have only used modern shimano or 80s Campag, so not exactly comparable currently...

True the campag stuff does look a lot better, but to be honest it's going on a ribble, so not going to win any beauty contests anyway!

Any decent bike shop, so Primera or that other one in Bournemouth whose name I've forgotten, should have some.

I much prefer the shifting action on shimano over sram and campag.

I'd say aesthetically sram and campag are joint first with shimano trailing, shifting wise 1st shimano, then sram, then campag.

Give them a go if you can, everyone has their preference.

I like the mechanical feel of campag, the shifters are more comfortable than shimano as well imo, also I couldn't get a hang of braking with shimano when the whole lever moves if you don't pull them straight but that may be a problem with me rather than the shifting :)

Eh, you can downshift on the drop, unless the shifter wasn't set-up correctly on the bar making it hard to do so.

Where's the best place to get a replacement screw/washer for my spd-sl shoes or does anybody have a spare they'd be willing to post to Bournemouth in exchange for postage costs and a warm fuzzy feeling?

I just changed my cleats (awesome Friday night, I know...) and am reusing my old screws as the holes on my shoes seem quite recessed. I can send you all six shiny unused screws if you like.

If the fields you're using to join the tables are each indexes or primary keys, it already knows which records have matching values. Without indexes, it has to scan through the whole table(s), matching up values.

When my team were still replying on 5 year old servers running SQL Server 2000, SQL Server Profiler was a good tool for analysing live activities. We moved to a 2008R2 shared cluster about the same time as we got the ANTS performance suite, so I don't know how you analyse the queries that are hapening in versions since 2005 (When SSMS was introduced).
