  • Hi mate, I bought a 7005sl model from them with a campag veloce, pretty much the cheapest of the cheap as far as alloy goes. I've since done about 4,000 miles on it, upgraded the wheels to some old mavic kyrsium sl's, and it's still as solid as ever. I've now got a cervelo and am using the ribble as a trainer but i'd definitely recommend it.

To be honest they always say that you should get the best frame you can then upgrade, but i'd recommend just saving money, get the base frame and a bog standard group, 105 or veloce and when you want to upgrade, buy a decent level bike and keep the old one for training :)

If you don't want to upgrade, then I guess you're not to bothered about having a nice bike anyway so you'll be happy with the cheaper one

Cheers really useful, this will be my only bike for a year or two, so thinking that Alu as I will be happier using it through the winter. Doesn't seem to be much weight difference between their frames, so will choose on the agressiveness of each frame. Now just got to choose between 105, veloce or centaur...
