Regal - I'd heard about that functionality. It's just done the same thing with Justin Timberlake (don't judge) though, this seems particularly un-random!

Best pub to kill a couple of hours in Saxmundham?

I'm listening to my ipod, which is on shuffle by song. It's started not shuffling properly - just now it played 9 Liars songs in a row. I haven't changed any settings or anything, what the heck is going on? I don't like this weirdly sentient machine.
I've noticed that I have music that I put a higher rating on play more regularly than the other.

Have you used it with Nike+? That made mine go a bit haywire. By which I mean ordered.

I cycled through Saxmundham the other day, lucky you. Not quite as pretty as Saxlingham Nethergate. Or maybe Saxthorpe.

My Mum and Dad live near there....bit flat but otherwise a cycling heaven.

so, one of those sti adjuster barrel threaded cable stops on the frame is fucked. it's blocked with the remains of an adjuster as well as the tip of a broken bolt extractor.
it's the right one. the one for the rear der. right?I want to get a 1x10 drivetrain for which I need only one of those stops.
can I use the left one and somehow cross the cable over when it passes under the bb shell?
there's no guides under the shell, but a threaded hole to mount one.
what can I do? -

what can I do?People sometimes cross the derailleur cables even with both shifters as it can improve the cable routing around the head tube, but you might end up with the inner cable rubbing on the downtube as it crosses. It depends on the exact position and design of the cable stops / adjusters.

I just assumed it would be a problem for the inner cable to come into the under bb guide at an angle.

Where can I get a bolt on skewer in London, today?

Not usually, especially with a normal plastic BB cable guide.

Can you run mechanical disc brakes with any normal road sti or campag levers?
Completely new to me... thanks
-
• #50668
Depend on the disc caliper, Road BB7 for example would be fine with careful set-up (compressionless cable housing etc.), a mountain bike specific caliper will have too much pull to work with road shifter (as in a long throw to get the pads to touch the rotor).
Or just spunk out on those;

My brother is looking to get a bike from Ribble using their bike builder, but can't work out whether to spend more on a frame or the groupset, and is looking for advice, so if you had a choice between;
Carbon frame with 105 on
or
Alu frame with Athena\UltegraWhich would you go for and why?
This will be used for all weather relatively short (50 miles) rides
One follow up question, if you were getting a frame from ribble, would you go for their cheapest carbon frame or most expensive Alu frame, seem a similar price and seem to be some dodgy reviews on their carbon frames

Hi mate, I bought a 7005sl model from them with a campag veloce, pretty much the cheapest of the cheap as far as alloy goes. I've since done about 4,000 miles on it, upgraded the wheels to some old mavic kyrsium sl's, and it's still as solid as ever. I've now got a cervelo and am using the ribble as a trainer but i'd definitely recommend it.
To be honest they always say that you should get the best frame you can then upgrade, but i'd recommend just saving money, get the base frame and a bog standard group, 105 or veloce and when you want to upgrade, buy a decent level bike and keep the old one for training :)
If you don't want to upgrade, then I guess you're not to bothered about having a nice bike anyway so you'll be happy with the cheaper one

Where's the best place to get a replacement screw/washer for my spd-sl shoes or does anybody have a spare they'd be willing to post to Bournemouth in exchange for postage costs and a warm fuzzy feeling?
To replace the top guy.

Any decent bike shop, so Primera or that other one in Bournemouth whose name I've forgotten, should have some.
What I want to know is why that guy bought a Dicta in the first place.
It's budget for a reason. Send it back even though you're an idiot, and buy a real freewheel, not a toy one.
