Yeah, Steve. Someone was telling me about this at work the other day. Sounds kinda like Rolla, no?
-
• #728
yer is rollas for qualifying then the actual race is through the tyne tunnel is you qualify.
-
• #729
Looks awesome! Definitely game for entering that. Is the actual race fixed or can anyone enter on any bike?

Ratio is limited to 53x12 or something so I assume that's the max gear range for geared bikes. That or you have to run 200gi

Never heard of them and they're crazy cheap.

Looks like a Track Champion to me.

It does, but it hasn't got that weird shaped tubing. If I was after a new frame I think i'd really consider one of these.

Photography types: does anyone have a flash I could borrow for a day/few hours? Just needs to have a hotshoe mount and be manual, any brand should work... Can pay in chocolate.

I've got a Vivitar 285, any use?
-
• #736

Couple things relating to locking up.
Best places to lock your bike up near Brewdog? The only racks I can think of are outside the theatre royal at the top of the hill and they're pretty sketchy anyway. I was thinking about the multi storey car park on Dean Street, Never checked it out but are their bike racks inside?
I really hate locking my bike up in town (or anywhere for that matter) simply for fear of it being vandalised more that stolen. Do you think the forum would benefit from a local guide of good central locations to lock your bike up in Newcastle? Any hidden gems / secret places people know about? or is posting about this on a public forum for all to see a really stupid idea?
It may also be useful to share how to / how not to lock your bike up tips to give less experienced people a better understanding of the subject. I know it's pretty black and white but it can't hurt to share some knowledge others may not really think about. The amount of times i've seen locks around spokes and seatposts is ridiculous.
I know theres a lot of this in the main forum but I think it'd be good to have a tooncastle only thread on the matter.

No location is safe. Be secure.
Dunno if anyone has seen this yet, but looks fun
