Righty-oh. Painful sale this, but this is just not going to get used in Yorkshire. Well ridden on London roads for 6 months, an amazing commuter/pub bike/track bike/whatever you want.

    Good heritage, ex-pro, beautiful patina.

It's got some surface rust but has been protected by heli tape on the top tube, the rest seems to be chromed (rear triangle certainly is) so I never got it repainted. It's a lovely aquamarine with original (presumably custom) decals like the one on the rear of the headtube.

I believe it's made from Aelle, and the forks are non-original but were sold to me as SLX. All works together well and price includes a Tange headset (smooth) and a Campag BB (not so smooth, but hadn't noticed until I'd taken the cranks off so not too bad).

55 seat tube, centre-to-centre and 54.5 top tube. I'm 6ft and a bit of a T-Rex and with risers and 90mm stem this was perfect.

Lots more pictures here http://imgur.com/a/jr6oj#3CywE3x Notice the lack of serial and '55' stamp at the top of the seat tube. This was built for a rider, not a generic model, hence the ungoogleable nature of it (believe me, I've tried).

This really is a beautiful bike, but isn't sensible for me right now so needs to go to make way for more 'practical' things.

    Postage or pickup from Leeds/Otley

  • This frame rings a bell..

  • It was all over the internet for a bit, seller wanted ridiculous money though. I think he started at a grand...

Price drop anyway, £270 including postage to the UK.

    Also, Italian threaded BB.

  • oh yes, i remember that one.....

do you have the original forks?

  • I don't, I never got them, just some crappy straight bladed cro-mo ones. Bought these seperately.

    I'm happy to include them.

  • The sticker looks like one of the Mint Sauce series ones they used to give away with MBUK, yyeeeaaarrrsss ago

I was thinking the same think I used to have it on my stem back in the day!

  • Really lovely frame. I think you may be asking a bit too much, considering the condition though.

  • Fair comment Dan, hoping that the delicious Patina makes up for tattiness. It is a beauty in real life, honest.

Alright. £250 posted anyone? Before eBay?

  • I would totally buy this, as it looks lovely. Just can't justify or afford at the moment though. I think my gf would kill me too.

  • Ah come on... who wears the trousers?

Seriously though, probably a bad time to sell this, being the end of summer 'n' all.

A big part of me is thinking "in a year I'll hopefully live somewhere with a shed/garage/workshop, just hold on!"

Unfortunately, my wife thinks that 5 bikes in the small laundry room/basement is "too many" so I have to downsize.

  • donwsize???

Ah come on...who wears the trousers?!

  • no one, they can't get into the laundry room

  • peeeeericce deeeroppp. As I have made some room in my basement I'm not as keen to get rid of this now, so this'll be the last price drop for the foreseeable future...

£230 posted. Bargz for a frame with proper heritage. And it's a really pretty colour.

  • Frame sold, but forks (chromed SLX, chrome is perfect) available for £25.

Pictures can be taken if anyone's interested.

  • Provisional dibs on the forks if you can
Let me know the steerer length ? Cheers

  • 2nd Dibs forks

  • Is the fork still available ? Cheers
