Will I need lights?

This should really start at wests. Just so you all have an idea of how far Murts home moved.
I say you because I'm thinking of waiting at the halfway point and just doing the hills at the end, rather than riding in 15miles just to come out past my place anyway.

Those coming from out west (and anyone else for that matter) are very welcome to have a feeder ride down to souths.
Personally I'll be starting south.

So is Murts getting the first round? seeing as he's the closest to the pub and will be there first.

Damn - this would have been better as a Thursday night...
Could you imagine the carnage....?!
-
• #57
Damn it, when I said start at wests I did mean as in west drinks... On a Thursday... Should have been more specific.

See the black circle half way along the route... That's pretty much exactly where I live.
20 miles isn't that far... And it's even faster when drunk coming home from wests in my experience.

It's hard enough to get people to go to Wests when it is in London, never mind out in the sticks!

Reigate?
What was he thinking!?I reckon he told the cab driver to go to "Kensington" but it was misheard.

Great idea in itself, avoid the A217 though. It's like riding on the motorway.

Sorry, did I understand you right there or were you mumbling?

I used to use it as my training route, it's good if your TTing not so good if your on a social ride.

would not want to be talking to any of you lot anyway!
dealing with the noise would also be good practice for understanding mumbles when you actually get there

The new route provided by Fasih seems to steer clear of the A217, so happy days.

The A217 Reigate Hill downhill (downhill) is great fun at night on a ride to Brighton.
-
• #72
The best downhill I ever had with the bike.
-
• #73
The A217 is more uphill than downhill, plus on a saturday afternoon is will be busy as hell.
Ok, so now that we have an idea of how we are getting there what about getting back?
Are people riding back, or is the plan to take the train back. Redhill to Clapham Junction runs in at £8.70 - trains leave every 10 minutes, and take 20-30 minutes depending on which train you get.
-

I reckon we just wait and see how it goes on the day.
Some people may want to ride back, some won't, and I Doubt we'll all be leaving at the same time.
I'll be bringing my lights etc to have options. -

I'm probably jinxing this, but the long range forecast says 25 degrees and some sun :D
And for those worried about any climbing - you can walk up the hills with me.
