I raced too. Had a rotten start and got held up at the usual first lap pinchpoints and arrived at the whoop to witness the immediate aftermath of the crash. My understanding is that the injuries sustained were nasty but will heal with time. I wish Matt a speedy recovery should he be reading this.
I also enjoyed the revised HH layout, and it does flow well, but the dry and dusty conditions mean that it's hard to assess what it'll be like in the depths of winter (and a cite the differences between Bethlem in summer months and December as an example; hard, dry and fast in the summer compared to the field of death in the winter where running is mandatory). I think next summer I'll invest in some file tread tubulars to see if they offer more grip than my clinchers, which offer very little.
I failed to not get lapped again, with Jules catching me with 2 laps to go. I did hang with Gabor for most of the remaining laps, so the form is coming, but needs some work before the London league starts next month.
Smiling? Clearly not going fast enough.
