  • Temporarily on hold owing to lack of interest / suitable trades. Sorry folks!

  • I have a set of wheels that I would swap, the Condor ones built to Miche hubs, they are actually a pretty lovely set of wheels but I would prefer some heavy duty ones.

  • I have some classic maillard tubular wheels, tied and soldered spokes, brand new unridden Rally tubs. I bought them planning to use them on the track myself but bought some decent clincher tyres instead.

Not sure if they would suit the bike or be worth your trade though.

  • Nice idea!

  • Great idea, maybe Ian Cook (Cooky on here) would be able to help? email: hernehillbookings@googlemail.com

  • Thanks, folks.

Tenderloin, those wheels do sound nice. Possibly a little too nice. My wheels could probably do with cleaning, truing and a spoke or two replacing. Obviously the hubs themselves are worth a few quid though.

  • Not exactly looking to swap, but I am interested in the brake excluding the lever. Willing to sell?

I'd be happy to meet up and have a nosey at each others bits... ;)

Yeah, I actually would sell that. I warn you it needs new blocks though. It's a Shimano 105 caliper and one of the newer parts on there.. surely you couldn't possibly have known that from the crap photo?

    Deal. Wear your lucky pants.

  • Here's a bit more detail as to what's on there and what, if possible I'd like to replace it with. There's not a great deal in all honesty. I could probably bring the finished item down to the LFGSS track day if I got a shift on:

    Wheels:
Velocity B43 on Goldtec Track hubs
Decent and true shallow rims with generic track hubs

    Brake:
    105 caliper and Goldfinger lever
    Braklzz

    Bars:
Deda Ergo road bar sort of thing
These could probably stay, but a more narrow, curved bar would be ideal

    Sprocket:
    18t
    15t

    Pedals:
    DMR v8 with JOL straps
I might have some pedals if we can't find any but cages and straps would be good.

haha, definitely had no idea. How much are you willing to sell the caliper and cable combo for? And does anyone have some blocks for sellz?

  • You can have the cable, caliper and lever for a tenner, I'm sure.
I just need it for a few more days. Alternatively, if you can source a 15t sprocket or half decent racing saddle, you can just swap it for that.

  • This may sound weird, but do you have anymore pictures of the bike as a whole?

  • This is an awesome idea.
    Rep'd

  • Will get some more pictures tomorrow, particularly of the parts which will need new homes!

  • If wheels aren't sorted, I have a pair of campag track wheels on mavic tubs. Only one of the tubs holds air though. The track nuts are a little shagged but work.

  • Thanks for the offer - I would prefer a pair of clinchers for now, if only for the simplicity of repairs at Herne Hill I guess. They also sound perhaps a little too nice.

I've added more photos anyway. Don't bother commenting on the bar angle.
Also, I'm under the impression my dreadful scrawl will probably come off the rims with a little elbow grease / nail varnish remover.

I've also sourced a 15t sprocket so we're officially in business!

If anyone wants the dead grass off my pedals, that's free.

(Also, I really need another bike to commute on in order to really get this mini-project started so if you have something old but trusty for sale, please send me a PM as I may well be interested!)

  • Man, that frame looks good. Shame you're not selling it. :(

  • Thanks.
Since it's not actually worth much in a monetary sense though I'd imagine it to be much more valuable to a young track racer in their first season!
And if they beat me, even better.
