  • Good wheels for track use but some people say they wear pretty quickly during street use, I’ve got one on the rear though and it seems fine, however for you, if you're going to be using brakes, steer clear as they dont have machined breaking surfaces. Also their lockring threading isn't consistent atm

Also a bit of lesson time:

Generally with rims if you see a silver outline on the rim, or the rim is silver, it has a machined breaking surface, I’d go all silver 21mm v-sprints for you, black hubs and spokes on silver rims looks a bit rubbish imo. though

also, so you know, i don't think anyone said, rims that are "low profile" are called box-section rims, the ones that are deeper are called deep v's/aero, referring to the cross section of the rim.

When kinoko get me the order i'm going to be building up some silver formula hubs onto silver mavic open sports with dt swiss spokes, tubes and tyres (rubino front, randonneur rear) and lockrings all included and selling them as a starter wheelset with profits going to the forum if you're interested?

Oh and forks, i'd go alpinas, save £75 compared to columbus tusks and spend that on other parts, the difference will be minimal between the two.
