  • I'm glad to see the Great London Cycling Revolution lasted 4 days exactly; there was no-one riding on my commute in today. Bliss.

  • it was raining mind
no right minded cyclist goes out in the rain do they ?

  • My girlfriend and I both rode today. She rode all through winter too. #proudcyclingpusher

I wussed out. Hangover. Nice new denim. Bike left outside overnight, wet saddle...The call of an On the Hoof cappucino and 15 mins reading on a quiet train won out. #fairweathercyclist

  • My bike is still in bits in a bike bag, took the train into Blackfriars from Herne Hill...

  • lunch pint?

  • Fuck off...

  • Was in for a meeting, back at home working* now...

  • Hmmm... I see you lurking, Chris...

  • paging platini:

fewer hours in the day = less sun

Days always tend to have 24 hours in my experience. After the summer equinox there is less daylight.

  • i am starting to think you are pisti's alter ego, when he is on sabbatical you turn up again.

I hate the expression 'always tend' for it's general vagueness, what does this mean. Does this mean always have 24 hours in a day or sometimes we don't have 24 hours in a day?

The latter would be correct as we get one 23 hour day and one 25 hour day each year. Sorry to be a pedant but you started it so you only have yourself to blame.

  • ^zing!

  • PS: I'm calling it. Best summer since 2006. Moar plse.

I vote thread start on most annoying expressions. First one I hate " Sorry but....insert unapologetic comment"

  • Sorry but that's a shit idea

  • Thread ideas like that always tend to be shit ideas

A true pedant would point out that the exact length of a day based on the Earth's rotation and orbit around the Sun is 23 hours 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds.

Edit: The above also varies by 16 minutes throughout the year due to the Earth's elliptical orbit.

  • I'm not a true pedant, I lie a lot.

  • Just, ummmm.... just trying to think of something to say
