  • Hi, just a heads up, my specialized sectuer was stolen from my secure storage on golden lane. It's been my trainer since I broke my knee.

It has newish white bar tape and white pedals (exustar) and a white bontrager bottle cage.

Sorry if this is the wrong way to announce this, I'm pretty gutted :(

Email me on cleatsandcode at gmail dot com if you have any info!

  • I caught a bike thief on Friday at vauxhall station. I was across the road at the bus stop making a phone call and could see these kids gathering around some bikes at the bottom of the footbridge. One of the dozy fucks looks across and can see I'm looking at them and they still go ahead and crop the lock. One cuts it and them passes the bolt cutters to another who sticks them into a jjb bag. At this point I make my presence known with a loud "alright lads what are you doing" a bit of a starburst from them, tried to grab the one with the bolt croppers, but he's young, i'm not and he's on a bike. Mr Fuckwad lookout however decides he's just going to saunter off with a casual swagger, unfortunately for him just as two of BTP's finest come out of the tube station and they grab him when prompted. The bloke whose bike it was has coincidentally turned up and is saying how his Abus chain has been cut but doesn't want to hang around to give any details as he's late for work - so fair chance nothing will happen to Mr Fuckwad. When I left he was cuffed and in BTP's hands.

  • Raleigh Urban 1 stolen from Harwood Court, Upper Richmond Road, Putney on 16th/17th of August. The bicycle was chained at the 3rd storey with thick metal link. Photo included

  • I've just had my beloved Hed Deep Jet stolen from my brothers bike, along with a matt black alpina undrilled fork and thomson elite x4 110m stem from Columbia Road tonight (Sunday 18th August) at about 10/11pm

    (pictured on my bike)

The wheel is actually pretty fucked, I am just very attached to it as I've rebuilt it a few times and it's survived a major crash. I desperately want it back

I'd really appreciate if anyone could keep an eye out for it popping up on gumtree/ebay/(I dread to think) here

If anyone has any information about these bits, please give me a ring on 07889224087

    Thanks,

    Charles

  • Morning all,

A very sad weekend for me as I had my Vitus stolen from inside the communal area of a shared apartment block in E8 during the early hours of Saturday morning. Apparently an acquaintance of someone living in the building who had some people over.

If anyone has any information regarding the bike then please let me know on here or on 07743489784

A very distinctive bike - Vitus 979 frame, all Campagnolo parts, Mavic CXP 30s. It meant a great deal to me.

    Cheers,
    Pete

  • here's a better photo of the wheel along with the forks and stem that were stolen. The wheel was on a pinhead locking skewer so I doubt the fuckers will be able to even separate the forks and wheel

    Hello.
I had my bike stolen on Saturday night from outside my house in SE17. Any sightings or infos, please call me at 07772509782. This is the only picture I could find and it's 8 years old. Since then, I have changed all the components. I also had the seat tube replaced some time ago. I never got the chance to paint it so it's kind of silver/rusty colour. Back wheel: black, Paul Component hub (high flange), 36 Sapim spokes and black Araya rim without braking surface. Front wheel: Really characteristic Shimano (I posted picture of the remaining, back wheel), rim is at the end of its life and there is a dent facing the hub. Old Campagnolo Record Pista cranks, badly worn out Brooks seat, Nitto track bars with zebra bar tape, black headset (don't remember what make was it) and flat pedals with silver toe clips and straps.
    Thanks for all the help.

    UPDATE!

I have since learned that the guy who allegedly stole my bike goes by the name of Sydney or Sydknox (https://twitter.com/SYDKNOX). Here is a picture of him:

He lives in Camden Town and works in a Skate shop called the Three Amigos designing skateboards. He also frequents the Dalston area allegedly. However I am still not sure of his last name or his full address

If anybody recognises him/gets sold a bike by him or has any information on him please PM me.

  • More news from the police:

**NEWS IN BRIEF: STC Tackles Cycle Crime

**More than 16 arrests were made last week as a result of increased activity as part of Project Cycle Ops - a partnership initiative between Transport for London (TfL) the police and cycling groups to tackle cycle theft from public places across the Capital.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service Safer Transport Command, stepped up their activity last week, using a range of tactics to crack down on cycle thieves.

Project Cycle Ops is an on-going partnership initiative involving hundreds of officers to tackle cycle theft using a variety of tactics including bike marking and registration events, engaging with cyclists, high-visibility patrols, surveillance, intelligence-led operations and covert policing tactics.

Chief Superintendent Sultan Taylor, Safer Transport Command, said: "The increased policing activity, through a wide range of tactics, has seen some excellent results in the Capital.

"This activity, which will continue to run across London's 32 boroughs, is part of Project Cycle Ops, a collaborative approach between the MPS, British Transport and City of London Police in partnership with TfL to crack down on cycle theft in the city. It's vital that all cyclists are able to leave their locked bike knowing that it will be secure and there when they return."

    Crime Prevention Advice
Park and lock your bike at designated parking areas, using two 'sold secure' locks. Make sure both locks catch the bike frame as well as both wheels and the post.

    Follow the Three R's:

Record - Keep a record for yourself of the frame number, make and any other marks that can identify your bike if it is stolen. The Cycle Taskforce run a number of bike marking events, details can be found at http://content.met.police.uk/Article/Cycle-marking-events/1400005859885/1400005859885

[]Register - There are a number of websites where cyclists can register the details of their bikes and any distinguishing features/ frame numbers etc. The MPS have recently selected BikeRegister as the preferred cycle online registration service - www.bikeregister.com.
    [
]Report - If your bike is stolen then please make sure that you report it to the police. Bike theft is a significantly under reported crime. Reporting the theft will enable us to check databases and contact the owner once the bike is recovered.

Should I keep posting these? Just asking as they're essentially press releases.

  • Keep them coming, much appreciate the news of scums being done.

  • Am in Tooting, will keep eyes peeled

  • ^^^^Damn son, Wiz Khalifa stole yo' bike!

  • ^^ 1+, keep posting these, please

  • sweet. nice one

  • It's not until it happens to you that you realise it's such a problem. Very, very annoying. I had my bike stolen on sunday (18th August 2013), between 12:45 and 20:45 on Rathbone Place towards the Oxford Street end. Here's a description of my bike.

Heavily Customised Diamond Back Bandito in Gun Metal black/grey

    Starting from the top:
Brand New Trek Grips - They don't fit fully as the bars have been sawn down
Bars are matte black, sawn off short at both ends. They also have two very distinctive marks on them, from where I came off. Two bright silver/ raw metal scratches on both sides
    PIG Headset
Frame is gunmetal black/ grey. Front DB badge has been taken off, has a 661 sticker on the right hand side. On the left hand side is rust from the break cable rubbing. Only branding is a decal on the bottom part of the frame on both sides. One has a large visible scratch across it.
On the bottom of the frame is my old post code, possibly my house number, HG1 4NR, 25
Front wheel is a HALO Tornado, Originally all black, but the rim has gone silver from V-Brakes
Back wheel is stock, same colour with Diamondback written on it
raceface single speed pedal/ sprocket set
    Brake cable is quite stretched
Brakes are Shimano V-brakes in silver

So it's a little light in areas and i have no photos, but it's quite easy to spot. Slightly shiny black frame, 26" wheels, that seem a bit big for the frame. I'm aware this isn't a really expensive bike, but the amount of money and time I've put into it, is insane. I've had it for about 5 years, and I'm only 17, so that really is a chunk of my life.

@insideoutsider - I'll look into your bike if you'd like. If you can assure me that's 100% the guy that took it, i've visited three amigos quite a few times and can try to inconspicuously see if he's got any bikes for sale... I'm young, so who would suspect anything haha.

  • got my H Plus Son TB14's wheels robbed this afternoon, outside a natwest, across from new scotland yard...unfuckinbelievable. They have BLB black mamba tyres with amber wall on them; these are near impossible to take off the rims as I've snapped many a tyre lever...also BLB front and rear hubs. What I'm trying to say is that the little prick will sell as stole...if anyone comes across these...stranger things have happened! worst of all, I'm on that bastard tube until I get the finds to replace the wheels....

Firstly this is same person as about HR - just entered the wrong username. Nice one. Anyway, round there is really bad for bike thefts. Last week a lady who works at the opticians had her bike nicked, broad day light outside the bank. Really gotta watch your bike there. I've just started working on the Strutton Ground Market on the specialist coffee cart (it's the market next to Natwest), I'll try to ask around and see if anyone's got any wheels for sale. The other day some guy came up to me asking if i wanted to buy some champagne, so who knows, maybe wheels soon!

  • So, it happened. My bike was stolen from outside LA Fitness in Victoria last night. Locked it up about 1830 in the bike area beside the Boris Bike stand, returned about 2000 and it was gone. Images and specs below:

    • Planet X RT-57 carbon frame and fork
    • SRAM Force shifters
    • SRAM Force front & rear derailleur
    • FSA 53/39 chainset
    • FSA wheelset
    • Garmin cadence sensor on rear chainstay
    • Garmin twist mount on stem
    • Speedplay pedals

If anyone comes across it, please drop me a line.

    Cheers.

  • Fuck man, bros can't even lift in peace :(

    So many bike thefts lately.
