Sorry about your loss mate. Still I can't quite get my head around this... We're talking about a supposedly securely locked bike in a gated, manned and CCTV monitored area. How the fuck did that happened?
Maybe (likely) someone else who uses the lockup and has been eyeing yours up for a while?
We already know that good bike thieves can steal a D-locked bike pretty quick and make it look like they're just unlocking it and riding away. He might have conned security into letting him in as well ("forgot my key, mate!")
The security at our old workplace's bike lockup were well dodgy, didn't trust them one bit. Rode my shite MTB and nothing better than that on the occasion I needed to be in the office there.
The worst security is false security, I don't think you can treat a manned, CCTV'd or locked bike area any different to the open street when it comes to your bike being nicked. If someone wants your bike, they'll find a way to take it.
