He was out in our front garden minding his own business when one of the local dogs, an american bulldog (not a pit bull), was being walked past. Dog saw him and somehow slipped his collar and went for him. Tiddy ran for the back garden with the dog chasing him where it cornered him.
Wife heard the noise and came out to see what was going on just as the dog actually grabbed Tiddles. *** She grabbed the dog and got it's mouth open*** where upon Tiddles, instead of running for it, stood his ground with hackles up and tail like a bottle brush hissing and spitting and basically daring the dog to have another go. By this point he's covered in blood and dog slobber.
Dogs owner arrives and gets hold of the dog, full of apologies and Clare gets hold of the cat, gives the dog owner a mouthful and gets Tiddles inside and into a carrier to get him to the vets.
Get to the vets having rung ahead and told them she has a cat thats been attacked by a dog, so they are ready and waiting. Get him in, vet gets him out of the basket and starts to examine him. Vet then says "did you say it was a dog attack?" followed by "they are usually worse than this"
Turns out he is virtually unharmed, a bit shocked and some bruising but otherwise fit and healthy. The blood appears to have belonged to the dog after he gave it's face and muzzle a damn good shredding with his claws. He may have no teeth but his claws are bloody sharp!
By my reckoning he is down to four lives now......
^That is one hard cat.
I think I actually love him
and I'm really happy that he is ok.
One hard wife too - think I actually love her.
