  • Not quite oh shit, more oh shit I am a dick....

Day 3 on tubs and the front keeps on loosing air during the day. Yesterday after work I thought I would cure this by topping up the front with the remaining can of pitstop I had in my bag from Fridays flat (well it worked so well on Friday what could possibly go wrong !)

I let a little air out of my tyre and applied the can, rubber foam everywhere.....fcuk this did not happen on friday. to compound the issue my healthy 90psi tyre is now at about 20psi.

Okay no problem, I will cart it round to Evans and pump it up there. After all, i don't have a flat, just me pissing around with a can of foam.

Walk it out of the car park and up onto the road. Being a lazy sod I jump onto my bike and scoot around to evans (I work in the wharf, so have to follow the one-way system round). Front is a bit floaty but not totally flat......until I hit a pothole

fcuk fcuk fcuk......Get to Evans and inspect the tyre, I now have a 2-3mm gash...fcuk fcuk fcuk. Search the shelves and I am in luck, they sell some tyre foam. not pit stop but it looks like it'll do....£7 later I am outside the shop with the foam attached.

It proceeds to piss out of the hole in the tyre, out of can, out of the adaptor pretty much turning the pavement and a window of Evans into the prettiest Christmas scene.

But.....it fills the hole, only to 40psi but I can ride it. manage to get home (12miles) before it finally lets go totally. Tub trashed and me full of regret...

Why oh why did I just not leave it alone, it was perfectly fine before I started to fiddle...

depressed myself further at home by watching a 10min youtube vid of tub replacement...5 day process !!!! WTF

Lucky I have 3 other front wheels to get myself around on and a spare tub to fix it with, looks as though a weekend of solvent abuse is on the cards
