• So, I locked one of my bikes up to one of the racks at work pre-house move and have lost the key. The lock is one of the big Kryptonite Evolution 4s so if anyone has anything that would get through it that can reasonably be carried to the Tottenham Court Road area at some point next week it would be amazing.
Beer / money for beer and immense gratitude in exchange.

  • Is there parking in the area?
I have an angle grinder and may be able to do it after work one day next week?
    would also need power...

  • Is the burly man just for your own amusement?

J/k, come on people, help Charlie out, she's lovely.

  • Here is an opportunity to prove chivalry though wounded is not quite dead....i sadly have no angle grinder or bolt croppers or even live in London.....but confess to being often burly and occasionally surly and sometimes early but never girly.

  • Thanks Edmundro. The burly man is probably not essential but would certainly improve the situation.

sdw - the rack is in the car park behind my office. There's power in the attendant's hut a few feet away. If you were able to do it that would be simply amazing.

The rack is one of those lame thin ones that people can just load complete in to a van, and under normal circumstances I'd be all for sawing straight through it, but sadly it belongs to the landlords not my company and we've pissed them off quite enough recently. Plus I'd then still have a lock attached to the bike that I can't remove. I have absolutely no information about the lock other than make and model and the fact I bought it in Teddington about 10 years ago. Probably wouldn't get very far with a new key on that.

  • Ok cool.
Send me a pm to arrange a day.

  • Chivalry is not dead.

    Thanks sdw!

  • Was he burly enough for your taste?

  • Definitely.
Although, obviously, that wasn't my main concern.

  • which bike?

  • ps you will find the key as soon as you saw off the lock - right Ed?

  • No problem, thanks for the beers!

  • Clara, it was the Peugeot - don't worry, the pretty one is nice and safe and snug in my house. And it had its first adventure on the roads since I got the all clear and it was FUN.
Still no sign of the key. I expect the cat has hidden it under the floorboards or something.

  • I wouldn't put it past it

  • Hello hello - I am in the Hackney area and would pay someone to come and meet me in Finsbury Park to remove my poor little specimen from it's d-lock. If anyone's got an angle grinder and wants to make a quick buck email me missegilbert@gmail.com

  • Similar problem here - lost keys to a D-lock, bike locked up in london fields (e9). Email me if anyone can help! b.cameron@hotmail.co.uk

we could negotiate a fee - you'd be literally saving my skin!!

  • i supply I.R.A certified balaclavas if it comes to the crunch =)

  • i reckon ppl could make serious monies out of doin this if it was marketed correcto

  • I like how you did this on the exact anniversary of the first incident. Nice work.

  • Help! My bike is locked up by Victoria station and I've lost my 3 keys in one go, disaster. Does anyone have an angle grinder or an expertise in key picking?
Email me on: ophelia.conheady@gmail.com if you think you can help :)

  • Ophelia...never a good idea to show your email address on an open thread.
