I had a set of pro-lite sardinia's on my dolan, couldn't fault them for the price from CRC at the time. Excited to see this built up!

Spok.
I'm good for a spok. Hopefully when I eventually get some sort of insurance payout from the crash, I can replace the Zipp that got totalled.

They always seem to be on offer, they're not the prettiest but they feel really stiff to ride.

Ta!
Rear disc and risers/clip on tt bars.
Don't go giving me silly ideas, I'm too easily swayed...
Tires?
Oops. Currently got a Gatorskin on the front wheel and a Halo Twin Rail on the back wheel, but the Twin Rail is pretty worn so there's an Armadillo sitting in my drawer at work ready to go on.
Should have all the parts apart from the levers and cable tomorrow morning so going to build it up during lunch and after work.

Oh wow, you're building a semi parts bin bike. I can't wait to see it in the flesh. It's going to be so epic!!

Why a Madison and not a Day-One or Flyer if it's for commuting?
-
• #16
Because it was my size, it was cheap, and I like the look of it.

Bastard. Just got London's famous London's famous Owen "FAMOUS" Reed to change the BBs over, so it will be finished minus brakk today.
Picked up some Fizik 3mm bartape from Chamberlains as I was there and support your LBS etc etc. If Owen says it's good, it must be...

Looks rad. Nicely specced too

That looks nice, especially for a commuter. I wish I had bought that frame now, it looks better than I thought it would.
I've started commuting again after I was knocked off last September and was on the receiving end of a serious back injury. Not wanting to keep racking up 40 miles a day on my fragile 90s carbon road bike, I've decided to build up a fixed commuter.
I'll be utilising some parts from my Fort Track 7005 which I put on my old bent Lo Pro which I was using as a stop-gap bike, and some are new but used for about 250 miles. I also still need a couple of parts and am as of yet undecided.
Frame: Genesis Madison Track 6061 52cm
Forks: Genesis Madison OEM Forks
Headset: FSA OEM
Stem: Deda Zero 100
Bars: Planet X 6061 Strada
Tape: Fizik Performance 3mm
Cranks: Pro-Lite Sardinia
Chainring: Pro-Lite 46T
BB: Shimano UN55 107mm
Pedals: Time Atac Aliums
Wheels: Gran Compe on Mavic Open Pro (built by broken_777)
Seatclamp: Whatever is still currently bolted to the Fort Track
Seatpost: FSA Carbon Pro
Saddle: Generic SLR copy - Carbon
Front Brake: BLB
Levers: ? - S500 if I can get them cheap enough
Chain: Sram PC1
What have I forgotten?
