Frame and fork separately? Could do I suppose. Is the curve of that fork what you talk about when you say it's designed to handle better with a front bag?
Otherwise I could just use any bike with canti-bosses...this is another first world problem I am facing in building this muhfuck'n bike that will never get built.

you can use the current frame and have a different fork, my rando have a normal head angle, but the fork was optimised for a front load, very very nimble without it, but feel easy and stable with load.

my girlfriend bike is quite similar to the Basso but with a porteur bar and long stem instead of the upright.

Why do they put the beds on the trailers so high? I can understand on a single wheeled trailer where the trailer needs to lean over but one a two wheeled trailer like that surely the lower the COG the better.
It gets more complicated ($) to build with a dropped axle, and besides, COG wouldn't be too much of an issue for such a trailer unless it was piled pretty high and you went 'round corners at speed. I hope you're not basing your load pulling techniques on the early B.O.B. trailer ads.

With some clever design it's not necessarily more expensive to build (although design is also expensive). So long as your ground clearance is adequate, lower is better, but I agree that the effect of CoG is negligible at utility-bike speeds.

The Extrawheel Voyager has a number of online reviews where it has been tested on fast descents and been quite happy.
Obviously it needs ground clearance, but the panniers are in the low rider position, with a significant percentage being below the axle line.

With the extra wheel can you run a rear wheel on it, so that you had a spare rear rathe than a spare front if you wanted?

Spaced at 100 mm I'm afraid
-
• #4262
Ah I bet you can bend it out.

More than likely, I'm running a dynamo hub in mine though so it works out well.

Trailer in use this morning. Thanks LFGSS/Ed/Whatok!
Shut up, poundshop string is a perfectly safe way of securing a bike to a trailer. I also added a handy "TOP" to the top of the platform to stop dunces like me spending ages trying to figure out which way up it's supposed to go.
Oh and it's now in Balham for anyone who wants it. Free to pick up as of tomorrow.
Stuff is never used as it was intended. With the trailer up there ^^^^^^^^ as it's a box frame they could relocate the axle to the top of the frame instead of the bottom.

...Where did you get those fenders?
If you are referring to the comment I made about getting the Honjos at my lbs, that's in Gothenburg Sweden, so that is probably of no help to you. Not sure where to get them in the UK. I know freshtripe has some honjo models. Don't seem to have the hammered ones now...

which is the after photo? please say the top

Top look to be after, as the component is more worn in the painted version (rims sidewall show wear, brooks copper riveted saddle, etc.).

so, what would be a good, but affordable 1x9 (or 1x10) setup for this?
I'm thinking one of the new rear mech like shimanos shadow plus or srams type 2, but I've also been suggested ultegra..
I'd like to be able to switch to drops so I thought using a 31.8 front mech clamp to put a mtb shifter on the top of the bars.

Lovely build.
are they old KEF's in the background? (104s?)

before is pornworthy.
why did they do that?http://www.fitzroviabicycles.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/woodrup-tourer-before-and-after.jpg

I didn't see that comment, just the picture. They look lovely (and expensive.) I guess Tokyo Fixed are selling some hammered ones that are similar, more in my price range. :) Thanks for the reply!
Or buy the appropriate fork plus front rack;
