• Hi All,

I'm planning to build a bike for my wife's birthday in October. Something like this is the aim

I'm looking for a frame, or full bike if the price is right. Ideally with horizontal dropouts. 54-56 ctc

I plan to completely strip, re-paint and fit new parts.

Quite specific but you never know...

  • How about this - a 1940/50s Peugeot? As the photo shows, it needs restoring, but the frame is solid and usable and some of the other parts can be saved. If you'd rather have an easier job, I also have a Cycles Royal mixte frame which has just been shotblasted and powdercoated and just needs re-building. Will sort ot a photo of that one if you're interested.

  • That Peugeot looks like an old BSA I has rusting in the garden which I decided was too much work.

Would love to have a look at the other one

    Thanks

  • I have this for sale, its £120. it works. http://www.lfgss.com/thread96695.html

British bukt frame, decent wheels and tyres. Couple of rusty nuts and bit of rust on the chain. You might want to replace the brake levers to something more powerful.
basket not on it though but can dig it out if needed.

Pick up Homerton Eves/wknds or Kings Cross during the day.

  • I'm looking to do a very similar thing for my missus.

I have a decent set of single speed bits that I have taken off my old frame. Is there anything about the features or dimensions of the split ladies frames that will cause me difficulties if I'm intending to use these standard single speed parts

  • I have a bike my wife no longer uses- but it does have stuck seat tube-

    Let me
    a, get clearance
    b, measure it

Should fit some one 5ft 4-5
