I met this Hero before the shop/brand closed for good

methinks 'tis an Austrian steed, both had similar downtube fonts,
dif headtube decal/badges, Jordaans' RIH named after steed in Arabian Nights,
Austrian relates to brand name -

I had the immense pleasure of seeing this trike in the flesh a week or so ago. Built and raced by the owner.
None of the photos come close to doing it justice, but this is from the builder's website (http://www.trykit.com):
There are a few more photos from Bespoked Bristol on Bike Radar:

" they are ideal in icy or slippery conditions; they have an amazing carrying capacity; riders with a balance problem are able to go cycling; they stand alone for parking! And there is the eligibility to join the TA and ride socially or in competition with a relatively small group of like minded individuals. For the exhibitionist, nothing compares with the exhilaration of cornering fast with flair and style"
So, great for the disabled, but in general I have to say I'm not convinced. The one posted above is beautifully made, though.

Real fun to ride, the old gents I spoken to during the LEL were happy with their, mainly because their balance wasn't what it used to be, it's more of a personal choice than anything.
As for those with disability, there are huge variation of specific push bike that fit their disability better than just a trike.
There are other kind of trike, like this one for example that some people might prefer as it (theoretically) corner better, but with more complexity, and less room for luggage beside the rack..

Indeed, but absolutely no reason why you need to be disabled or old and wobbly to ride one, in fact your almost as likely to fall off! It's just a different discipline of cycling with a rich history.
The guy offered to let me have a go then and there but I was scared I'd break it!
