Hi, your website and your bikes look really nice. Are you really sure you would trade a custom made frame that you charge 1k for, for a Ultegra groupset and some wheels?

Wonderful website, you are a true artisan. I wish I could assist, I'd love a custom frame like that.

Was fortunate to see these bikes in the flesh at Bespoked Bristol and have a chat with Jake. I also think that an entire frame is alot to trade for these parts. Maybe instead some smaller work on frames if needed? Its entirely up to you either way. Great bicycles and great guy.

I know someone who has what you're looking for and may be interested, I've sent them a message...
Hope it works out...

Very nice frames. And Reynolds doesn't allow just anybody to work with high-end tubing so you obv. know what you're doing in all aspects.
I got nothing to trade, just wanting to wish you all the best with your frame building :)

Jrusb - just a heads up that your website doesn't work on IPhones. The main page is fine, but the navigation menu flickers for a split second before disappearing when activated, meaning you can't actually move around the site at all.

I was browsing the site just fine with iPhone.

Hmmm... This is a 4S on iOS 5.1.1. Maybe the old firmware has something to do with it.

Well I've got some Mavic Aksium wheels and an Ultegra 6700 group, but I think that these frames deserve more. They look lovely man!

Surprised I've not heard of you before. Beautiful work, good luck in sorting out your parts!

Mmm... I have a 6700 groupset and a pair of handbuilt Novatec sl on Pacenti SL23s...
But I agree with many already, not nearly enough for what you're offering!
Beautiful work and I wish you the greatest success. -

Thank you all for the kind words and advice on the swap. I probably should be asking for more and I do need the all the other bits too (bars, seatpost, seat, etc).... so yes, maybe I should bump up the price to include these. There are quite a lot of variables that affect the price of my frames (mainly the type of tubing) so there will have to be some negotiating. I guess I was thinking I could find someone through this thread to do that haggling with!

I'll be in touch re repairs soon, always keen to support a South side business ,
your site said you can source Columbus, yes? -

You could also organise some sort of special offer, like Talbot this (also an add on this forum). He had the first 10 Reynolds 853 frames for 853 pounds I believe. Something like that would be better I guess and you'll make some money to fund the build.

Interesting... I hadn't seen this thread before. My frames are a bit more custom than Talbot's and I have sold a few 853s for quite a bit more than that so I might get some angry customers on the phone. My thinking behind a swap is that the swapper would get a bit of a deal on the frame if they had the parts already and I wouldn't have to feel guilty about spending money I don't really have on a bike- I would just be spending time.
Hi,
I make custom steel bike frames. I am currently building myself a road frame but I don't have any of the bits to go on it or much money to pay for them.
Do you have a new (ish) quality groupset (perhaps Shimano Ultegra), a decent set of wheels and some other parts you would like to exchange for a custom made frame that I can make you? Or perhaps one of these things that you could part exchange a frame for?
There are a couple of examples of what I can make on my website (and more coming soon): .

I'm not totally sure yet how this arrangement will work but I'd thought I'd ask anyway. Anyone?
