Could you suggest me more "deep" rims. I wanna get Campag record hubs and someone suggested me to lace them on Ambrosio rims. But I like to look of "deep" V, obviously I don't wanna get full deep V's.
Still cant decide which wheels to go for...
What would be the better option from the following:Ambrosio fcs35(620g per rim) laced on Campag Record(do they come in 24 drilling?)
Campag Sirocco set,
Fulcrum Racing 5,
or
Fulcrum Quattro -

At the end of the month I'll have finished my cycle to work scheme.
Thinking of getting a set of RS80 50mm's to replace my wheels on the scheme (as you can now just do it for parts)
Good choice? Can the decals be removed?

Also.

RS80 50mm have stickers no clearcoat. I got mine off easy and cleaned up with Maplin sticker remover or acetone I forget which

Cheers!
As someone who's opinion I'd take seriously, what do you think of them?
-

Utterly bomb-proof for the ahem larger rider, might even be overbuilt for most riders. I wouldn't go near a 16/20 spoke build except these. They almost play as nicely with Vittoria tyres as Mavic rims so no struggling with repairs like some rims.
Have they got the new D2 wide rim profile yet?

Answered own question; there is going to be an RS81 with D2 profile and 11 spd compatible

Not yet, but we're all hoping for some trickle down before too much longer.

Sure? I thought 81 was just a cassette update to take 11s, same rims as before.

Double checked and Madison say 22.4mm wide D2 and internal nipples

I think that is 2014...but I'm not that on the pulse!
The other option would be the Reynolds attack, the issue I have was I remember reading a couple of bad reviews about them, in terms of the rim wall failing under heavy breaking

I was told this at my lbs.
Maybe its not true.

The parts have to have safety aspect IIRC so wheels may be a bit of a stretch

Aero wheels allow nodders going up the blind side of left-turning HGVs to get out in front before they get squished. Seems like a safety benefit.

i guess that was my point.
you know where you'll be riding.
choose your hub/rim/spoke/tyre accordingly. get them built. get them ridden. -

I'm guessing someone who uses Campag, going touring on rough/broken roads?

Superstar wheels are Reynolds rims rebranded; can get 66mm clinchers for £700

Could be a Shimano user, the Ambrosio is a valid choice whichever cassette you use. Not sure that Corsas go with broken roads.

Good point, maybe the rider is a naturally gifted descender.
