Worth the wait undoubtedly...Really want to know what's in the red stuff they spread on the bread before grilling as this is the secret to their success!
Real Kebab Company in Balham is fucking immense, I put on over 2 stone when I was living there....student daze.
F.M. Mangal on Camberwell Road is off the chain good.
Takes ageeees though.

The grillmeister is probably knocking one out and using that.
Burst vein.

Tad - Mare Street. Amazing vegetarian special for very little dollar. Favourite for me has got to be FM Mangal in Camberwell though. They get serious amounts of flavour into their meats.
Word! Tad is so so good. And great value!

Beyte on Green Lanes (in between Newington Green and Clissold Park) - their lamb shish is hands down the best quality lamb and tastiest overall package, and their lamb doner wrap is insane too....

I'll accept that challenge
Ordered along with a jar of Jif extra crunchy. There can be only one winnar.....

Good man. It's my favourite supermarket brand and it's easy enough to get hold of.
I grew up on this stuff as a kid

The best peanut butter though is the Meridian/myprotein, no sugar, no salt, all peanut excellence.
It is just better. -
• #14886
Never actually tried the Meridian because every time I'm in a position to, I think "if I'm going to spend that much on PB, I'd rather have something exotic to show for my coin." and I invariably come away with a cashew/almond/hazelnut triple whammy.

A tub of the My Protein stuff is £5 - and 1kg! Not bad at all.... It's so oily and delicious. You can also grind your own stuff at Whole Foods in Kensington, if you're a tart.
^ Further to last nights conversation, I got the Lamb Shish at Beyti - wasn't expecting much honestly, as the bread wasn't that great - but fuck me it was so tasty - and the lamb was really fucking good - perfectly pink in the middle, tender, really delicious. Nice one Owl!!

I used to be a big Gizel fan on Clapham pavement but I've moved away now so not sure if any good. However I went for a kebab in Putney a few weekends ago which was wrapped in a flatbread/naan that the guy baked fresh in a clay tandoor right in front of our eyes. Shit got real right there. Does anyone know where this was, as I was blind drunk and can't remember?

Nom... Had a Troll's Pantry Imperial burger from the Brighton Street Diner event. Very nice if a little pricey. 36 day hung English Longhorn beef patty made in front of you and cooked to order!

There was a place doing something similar near us in Brentford. I think they're gone but if they've made it to Putney then you're in good shape. I'd like to know where that is too

Just bought this book:
http://veggiestan.com/
To continue my vegetarian month, and add some home flavour into it...
It has a recipe for my favorite thing of all time Maqluba, which if you've never tried, you've not lived.
So excited.
And the next one...Mmmmmm.

I can't wait to get that Snackistan book. I've cooked so much from the first one. My mother inlaw has pinched it off me now though.

I am in dire need of some nice fresh pittas/flatbreads down here in West Norwood. Where's the best place to go for some Turkish supermarkets or bakeries round here? I was thinking Streatham high st.

Just ordered two weeks of Soylent - it won't be here until December but I'm intrigued to see what the fuss is about.
-
• #14897
Serious question, why?
-
• #14898
Interested in the idea of soylent. especially if used to miss out boring meals and spend more money on having a few really good meals each week.
-
• #14899
Basically ^ that - I get fed up sometimes of grabbing crappy lunches/dinner because I don't have much time am in a rush. I'm not sure if you have 3 drinks a day or just one or how the dosing works etc. but I'll find that out and report, if anyone was interested.
I also like the idea as a cyclist, I think it could be useful if I wanted to do some light touring but didn't want to cook food etc.
Mainly, it just peaked my curiosity. I love food and cooking and am fortunate to always afford to eat the food I want but my brother starts university in September and Im interested to see if it could be good for him...

Hmm. From a time saving point I can understand the benefit, cost saving I can't.
I'm not ready to give up fresh food for chemicals just yet. I wonder if it'll benefit weight loss at all.
