  • I've just picked my dads bike up for restoration.
    It's a 1955 Maclean Featherweight and hasn't been used since the 80s.

I've started a thread in current projects

  • Looking forward to seeing that finished.

  • Cant believe you didnt get this earlier... Thats reet nice...

  • I'm wanting to switch my fixed steed from drops to flats. Any bar / brake / grip recommendations? For everyday commuting, not mad freestyle tricks or anything like that.

  • Hey colr, I've got a spare right hand Gold Dirt Harry lever if you're running a single brake?

  • I'm double brakes on this one. Planet X have some cheapie levers but they're bar dependent.

  • i like odi longneck grips but its all personal preference really.
Got a pair of oversized risers with grips on them that i cold sell if you wanted

  • ODIs are the oldest but the best BMX mushroom grips.

ODI also make these, and these are my favourite flangeless grips:

Are ya going for wide bars, or narrow. Truvativ Hussefelt DH are really good to cut down for fixed.

  • I've no idea on bars, I've always had drops. I don't want funny narrow hipster bars so perhaps something like these? They're only for commuting so I don't need bombproof DH bars. Risers I'm not sure on, the frame is quite tight as it is so I think they'll make me a bit too upright.

  • If you just want some flats like that ^ and aren't worried about them being a bit tatty, then actually do come down to Bike Links. We've got a box full of old bars - you're bound to find something, and you'll probably walk away with bars and change from a fiver.

  • Tatty is fine, what days are you in? I'll come and say hi while you're still employed there.

  • Aha cool, I'm in 10.30 til 6 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

  • Finished building a SS mixte for the girlfriend. Shiny original cottered cranks and 27" wheels.

  • looks good. Managed to get the cotter pins out eventually then

    Looks nice, good work!

  • Yeah man, I like the look of those All City frames, cool colour too.

  • Love all city stuff, I will have a nature boy one day!

  • Any news on the Kili Comp purchase Rikkster? Also, tried to come say hi in Fat Face earlier, but you weren't there/visible :(

  • Yeah, unfortunately it's not going to happen for a long time. I wasn't working there today, it was my last shift at Dandy.

  • Ah yes, of course.

  • Are they for the All City, Sparky?
