I have a s3x, black (currently mounted on gold deep v velocity, with black dt swiss spokes - but up for potentially splitting) 36H with a matching 120mm flange black SA hub laced to the same setup - except this rim has machined walls.
It works pretty well as a geared system, I used it for a month while I was up in scotland (the reason I built it up in the first place!) but now I've had to move back to Cambridge/London for work so it's not really as much use here - alas!
Took a few rides to get properly set up and adjusted, but works smoothhhhhh.
Photos if anyone's interested.

You might need a new stem to match, BMX bars are typically 7/8" = 22.2mm.
Many motorbike bars are 22.2mm, but some japanese makers use 22mm. 1 inch = 25.4mm bars are used (e.g. some Harleys) but they're rarer. Worth seeing what's available on eBay.
The grip section of the bar is almost always 22.2 or 22mm, but that's not normally a problem with MTB controls and lock-on grips.

Thanks for the info. I Had thought of the stem difference and there appears to be shims available to get over that problem.

Hi all,
Got some stuff to give away for free. All just stuff I don't want or need. Most of it is on it's way to the tip but thought I'd offer it first:
Women's steel frame. Seat tube 52 c-t, top tube if it had one would be 56 c-c. I forget the make, but it's basically a piece of junk, but was my ex girlfriends first SS so could fill a similar purpose for someone else? Has seat post and seat but no fork/headset/bb.
Dawes Giro 200 alu frame + fork. Seat tube 50 c-t, top tube 56 c-c. Good condition except the ds dropout has snapped off - not the removeable gear hanger, the actual drop out - so basically unrideable but could be a project for conversion to track ends? Fork is steel and no problems with it. Short rake ~32mm.
Beater wheels:
Front 700c, ~21mm rim, QR hub (if I remember right).
Front 26", QR hub
Rear 26", bolt on, screw on freewheel.Tyres:
1 x Schwalbe Marathon 700 x 37c - decent condition.
1 x Unknown 700 x 37c.
2 x Unknown 700 x 40c.
1 x Maxxis Detonator 700 x 23c - bit perished but ok.Local pick up only. Dibs then pm. Collect before/at the weekend.
Having a clear out so will be listing some better stuff for sale over the next few weeks.

Anyone got something cheap and cheerful that might suit my wife? 54-55cm ST is about the only requirement at this point. Cheap, rather than too cheerful, ideally - if there's the basis for a longer term project in there, that'd be ideal...

I have a couple of fairly rubbish bikes I could sell you cheaply (circa £35) but it depends if you want a road bike, ladies frame or what?
-
• #1770
Road would be the ideal - something that could be converted to fixed also a good idea.
She's got a town bike with a 3 speed hub, but something that allows her (and us) to get out of town - she's also keen on doing some longer rides for charity at some stage.
So really I'm just on the scrounge for a decent bike!

many thanks for lookingHi Earl, have you looked at stems for Dutch bikes? I put one on my GFs bike and even the shortest one raised the handlebars about three or four inches.

I'm after some uncut/wide-ish risers? 25.4 clamp preferably. Let me know if you have some for sale. Would also prefer black but not too fussy

Hi, I'm looking for a fixed gear bike for a short guy (~5ft6 so like a ~50cm I guess?), something with an alright (like an old steel track) frame and components would be nice, although not after anything super fancy! Just something I can get up to decent speed that's enjoyable to ride on a daily/regular basis, at a reasonable price. If it has short flat/risers that'd be ideal!
Many thanks!
I have one you can try but it's pretty much pointless because it's already broken in.
